Robbo,
Been to France a few times from Calais and to be honest the roads I have been on aint been great. I have however been heading further south so mostly just jumped on the motorway to get the miles in. Check out http://www.bestbikingroads.com to see if there are any good ones within range for you. One good thing I have found about France is that MOST folk are bike aware and let u pass in safety. However the French Police are about in force on the main routes south so if you can stay off main routes you should be OK. Also there are lots of little places with roadside cafes for stops and food and if you are away from main routes they are cheap. Heading there again in July but er not on the T, the boss cant fit all her stuff on it so taking the GTR1400 instead. Once we hit the good roads further south I will be moaning that the T aint there.
