dash problem!!

Why does my dash keep resetting itself.It keeps changing from mph to km.Reset off I go turn bike off and when using next day it has gone back to km and the clock loses time .could it be a battery fault as everything is ok.

any pointers cheers murf.

It's losing it permanent 12V power feed, somehow!

Have you checked all the basics first, fuses, terminals, connections?

battery

terminals are tight any pointers how it would lose it permanetly,checked all connections is it worth taking off nose and checking dash?

Yeah, the connector plug on the back of the dash pod has a rubber boot over it that splits and it lets water sit in the plug.

Fingers crossed it's as simple as that.

Is it resetting when your trying to start it or is it reset before you hit the start button?

has the problem just started murfeey, have you recently been out on the bike in the rain etc :dunno

its fine when bike is running,when turned off for evening get up next morning it has reset itself,doesnt happen when its hot either.

What i meant, did the problem start after you'd been out in rain or after you washed the bike etc, as amb suggested it may have some water ingress to plug connections :thumbup

no noticed it during the week reset and away i went did twicw since then when ive gone to go out have to change settings ,redline clock,mph ,km.

Is the battery fully charged :dunno

12.60v ........................ 100% Charged

12.40v ........................ 75% Charged

12.10v ........................ 50% Charged

11.90v ........................ 25% Charged

less than 11.80v .......... 0% Charged
