Well, with the realisation that my MOT is due & with precisely no rear brake to speak off, i decided to take the plunge and get a set of Dan moto rearsets from ebay.

I've spent most of today fiddling around getting the brake one to line up, i still need to sort out new copper washers and bleed the system but i'm pretty happy with how it's turned out so far.

I had a CNC'd bracket in the garage which i brought ages ago to use on my Kawasaki, which i never did. I managed to use this to mount the resevoir behind the heal guard. I had a ZX10R rear hel brake line, which was never used, this seems to fit better than the original & shortens the overal run.

I've got to fit the gear side this evening but will need to trim the fairing a little to get them to fit around the linkage

You don't need new copper washers, heat them up with a blow lamp till cherry red then drop them in water :thumbup will be all nice & soft again :biggrin

I'd heard that somewhere before, i'll give it a go in a bit when i've worked up the enthusiasm to go back into the garage.

they look good mate.. has anyone tried fitting the right hanger off of a falco to remedy this also? my mate has one and i keep eyeing it up, and threatening to steal it and im seriously curious as to whether it's a known swap

Odd.. I ordered my set of Danmoto rearsets from their webshop yesterday afternoon. I went for black to go with my Factory frame, but now I see the error,, my swingarm is silver like yours and the silver ones blend in better. nevermind..

Gear linkage will be the interesting one for me, the spec states dual roller bearings in each lever, and rosejointed bars.. at the price these are, we shouldnt expect anything too 'tight' or smooth but I am hopeful.

What are the footpegs like grip-wise, do you find your boots slipping outwards?

Rob :)

Haven't tried them yet. Still in the process of fitting them. I'll let you know when i have.

I had the realisation on the way to work, that i don't need to trim the fairings to fit the linkage. As the original pedal mounts directly, when you press down on the lever, it will move clockwise to go down a gear and anti clockwise to go up a gear.

On the pedal, when i press down it will go anticlockwise to down a gear and clockwise to go up a gear... So i can mount the linkage upside down. I'll check this the next time i get into the garage.

Let us know how you get on and post some pics of the gearchange linkage etc

Rob :)

Finally for a chance to finish off the rearsets this evening. they've been fitted for a couple of weeks when the bike passed the MOT but i needed to fit the quickshifter from the Bazzaz unit. First test will be tomorrow morning on my 50 mile commute.

Pic of the Gearshift side as requested:
