Damn thing won't start

Hi all, I realise this is a common thread but struggling to find my set of circumstances with a search.
I have an 04 model in the new shape.
I tried to start it after a few days in the shed. Did not have it on an optimate at that time but had been riding it regularly before hand. Had even completed a 1500 km trip.
Went to start it and it turned over a couple of times but did not fire. Then it would not turn over at all just make a noise as if it was about to try to.
The battery was indicating 11.8 by this stage so went and got an optimate.
It had been on charge for a couple of days and it was at full charge. Just went to try it again but nothing and the battery is now indicating 11.9.
Is it just the battery or should I be more concerned?
Sorry for being so wordy.
Cheers for any help.

Sounds like your battery is fcuked :dunno

State of Charge

12.80v ........................ 100% Charged

12.60v ........................ 100% Charged

12.40v ........................ 75% Charged

12.10v ........................ 50% Charged

11.90v ........................ 25% Charged

less than 11.80v .......... 0% Charged

Have a read through THIS post too :thumbup

Also check the brown connectors are not melting....could be the reason it aint charging....one between the V the other under the right side fairing

Battery is ready for the bin, if you keep trying to start with this you will feck the solenoid and possibly the sprag, buy a good quality battery like a YTZ 14 BS this will give you more cold cranking power, these bikes need good batteries

Just bypass the brown connectors, you dont need all the extra wires.....also its 3 phase so if you mix the 3 yellow wires up it dont matter

Probably just a dead battery anyway but worth checking the connectors to be on the safe side
