Hachette Filipacchi has put a number of publications up for sale, and depending on who you believe, CycleWorld*magazine, may be one of the magazines up on the chopping block. While Media Daily News is reporting that is the case, AdWeek*says Car and*Driver, Road & Track and Cycle World will be spared from the wraith of*Filipacchi.

Cycle World is the largest of the print motorcycle magazines but it, and the entire print magazine world, have been experiencing declining ad revenues for some time now.*Filipacchi, looking to cut costs and boost profits, would seem to be circling the wagons around only those publications which are remaining profitable. This news shouldn’t surprise anyone reading this article. Whether or not A&R is your sole source for motorcycle news, the web has clearly replaced print publications in their ability to break stories quicker, and offer more niche subject matter. Judging from the number of super-low offers to buy motorcycle magazine subscriptions we’ve gotten lately, it would seem Cycle World isn’t the only publication feeling the ad crunch.
