Guys,

I remember seeing a walk-through and coring and shortening on the old forum with pics

I've got some never used oem's from fleeeeeeebat and want to core N shorten em, got all the kit ready, perf tube, rivets, drill bits, grinder discs and packing etc....

Just need the measurements to shorten the sleeve, cheers lads

Was thinking of 5-6 cm but the previous poster of the cored and shortened cans, had different measurements and posted with pics but I can't remember how much he took off.

I think he went to 375 mm but its really up to you

Im going to do mine to that length soon also

where did you get the tube etc?

Patience. If you can wait till next week I'll be doing some coring and shortening. I'll do a step through. I got me a new tool ;-]

If you can't wait though, don't take too much length off or you won't get the end cap on. 3'' max. Leave the cats in too if you want.

I think that I want to start an Interweb site with Nobbie. Bits an' Bobs fer yer Tuono... Scary thing is... I'm half-assed serious aboot it. The man has this uncanny knack (pun intended) to find some really wicked deals...

What new tool you got?

Those cored cans I bought have been shortened by an inch or so. I've not pulled em apart yet but I might have modify my plans. I don't want to shorten my black RSV cans so may have to get some more perf tube

Keep us updated on your new can shenanigans

Got the perf from fleabay, I'll dig out the item id, think I only payed £19 inc p&p for a 1m length, they cut it into two 500mm too, saves me doin it.

Cheers

I got an expander tool. I'm attempting to try and big up the perf ends of 2" up to 2-5". Probably won't work but hey ho. The satin black are a good length and don't need shortening too much if at all.

Might work if you heat it and go gentle. The other option would be to make a reducing sleeve and rivet or weld. Let us know how you get on the expander, if it dos'nt work I might be able to knock up some sleeves

Will do.................

That was my plan also so you can be the guinea pig nob or whoevers cans your working on

I kind of envy the Nob as he's got the patience to go about coring cans, me, I'm a right bone idle ****, hence buying a set of fleabay, carbon can co's, which are the same size as the standard ones, but make a lovely sounds

Nob have played with your tool yet? I was looking at ripping these cans apart this weekend, and awaiting the Nob Can Co walkthrough.

Cheers matey

Well, I've done one, shortened it by 100mm, used 2.5" pipe, the original packing plus another sheet.
It's packed TIGHT! aluminium rivets just got to repeat the process for the other now, has anyone else had bother getting the end cap on again after shortening, it was a beee yatch to get in, then I foo kin forgot to drill new rivet holes in the casing so I had to take it out again......
