HELP ME !! I am trying to reinsure my 04 rsv colin edwards but most of the companys keep saying bike is not on the system, so cant insure it :dunno ( It is import ) bollox like that ?

And Ebikes want silly money to stay with them ! :jack

I'm guessing you've got a V5 and all the VIN numbers etc match up to the delegated registration & this should be recorded with DVLA, which is where the insurance companies get their info from!! I would suggest chasing DVLA first with regard to UK registration and get some direction from them with regard to the response you're getting re insurance!!

I insure mine as an rsvr. That is what it says on the log book and that's what the insurance company tells me is correct

The insurance companies should go from registration number alone...just insured my new bike with Carole Nash on the numberplate and model....should be enough info!
Take it easy Pete, hope you get sorted asap!

yeah cheers guys !! At home now the v5 and info I got from hpi says rsvr so that's what I will insure it as !

DON'T!!!!
The Edwards is worth more and there's always a danger that an insurance assesor will think it's a standard bike modified and could void your policy in the event of a claim.
Find an insurance company that knows what the **** they are on about and go with them.
Just my 2p worth!

The minefield that is......it isn't a specific model so it shouldn't figure as Edwards anywhere on a V5. It is an RSVR, which is a limited edition called an Edwards, as opposed to a different/seperate model designation.

The agreed valuation should be higher because of it's rarity, and yes the I agree the insurance company need to be made aware that it is an Edwards limited edition RSVR, but i'd hazard a guess that you'll be chasing your tail trying to find an insurer that has it listed on their database as a specific model.

Good luck that man :thumbup

mine just says rsvr. As i've basically de-stickered the bike to all intents and purposes it is an rsvr.

No insurance companies knew wht the hell an edwards was anyway and most asked me what the log book stated.

I have to agree with caterpillar it's a RSVR the Edwards bit is a paint job and will add value to the bike but all bikes are assessed on an individual basis if there is a claim involved so it would be taken into account at the time of a claim

i would keep looking for someone who'll reconise it as edwards as it has the extras that an rsvr dosen't have

I have a mille with his signiture along with hagas,my insurance class it as a factory model which it is and says so on the log book, fully comp £180 protected no claims and 4 years ncd bonus

who with???????????? That@s awesomwe!!!!!!!!!!!!

MCD was the cheapest for me !! underwritten as a edwards and a 4k payout !!!

Most insurance companys are only interested what is says on your V5 and like someone else said as soon as they have the reg number all the information the DVLA have on your bike shows on their system as they are linked, similar to the police network.

Ive just renewed my insurance with motorcycle direct, £195 fully comp with £150 excess, protected no claims bonus of 4 years.

Thats for a 04 RSVR

I was pleased with the price to say the least :thumbup

mine is listed as an RSVR, 104 quid fully comp with MCD. I am an old git of course, with no claims ever
