hi all new here, been browsing for a while and decided to take the plunge. new rsvr on the way. quick question. Having just left the 4cylinder fold where clutchless up changes are the way to effortlessly continuous power, are the rsv's the same. whats the opinion of you lads. are the rsv gearboxes up to it or do you clutch everything. like to know. hopefully find out for myself when the new bike arrives next week. oh am i looking forward to learning something new.:burnout

welcome to the site, heroblob!..I usually change clutchless only on the track simply as a question of time (you have much work to do!) and no problem with the rsvr.. on the other hand I prefer changing by using clutch when riding out on the road

my 02 loves clutchless gear changes, just dip the throttle a touch, mind you gearchnages are soooo smooot now I have dynojet quickshifter!. Even after 18 years riding I cant change as quick or smooth as with the QS, it took awhile to unlearn the dipping of the throttle though, now its open it up full whack and snick it up the gears...yeehhaw

My bike loves it as well, but not so much first 3 gear changes. 4 5 6 smooth as butter, 2psi on gear lever and little blip off throttle, do cluthless as much as possible.

Welcome heroblob :thumbup, personally i dont do them on the rsv but have done in the past on inlines without any probs. I'm sure some more folks on here will give you more of an idea if its recommended or not .
What model and year bike have you getting :thumbup

not to smooth unless you are going from 3rd to fourth and higher, way to unsympathetic on the drive from first to second and pretty much the same from second to third, i do it on the track from second to third but not on the road.:thumbup
