Hi all, new to the forum and have a question. Looking to get a Tuono (2009), but the clutch is way too heavy for me (weak left hand), is there any way of lightening the clutch effort significantly?

Found one thread on replacing the slave cylinder but that seemed to produce mixed results.

Maybe changing the levers would help. I rose one of the other guys Taft had changed his and found his a bit easier to pull in than mine, but like I've said above not really had any issues with mine

:lol

:)

A replacement clutch slave cylinder will reduce the amount of effort required. Try either Evoluzione or a MPL Nehmerzylinder, these I know reduce the effort by about 1/4-1/3
Oberon also make one, which I have no experience of.

the clutch seems to get heavier the older that the fluid is, is changing the fluid regularly keeps it a bit easier

Where do you live ? - there's bound to be someone on here nereby that has a revised slave cylinder so you could pop along and see the difference.

I have an MPL one and its loads better, in Harrogate if thats any use...

Thanks BF, i'll take a look at those.

Felix, just to clarify, i've not bought the bike yet, just thinking about one. If anyone is near the St Pete area of Florida with the modded slave unit, i'd be interested to see what difference it makes for sure.

Ah, your in the states....

You probably know, but the Tuono is the same setup as the RSV maybe try a post on here:

Seems to be a few more members on your side of the pond on there...

The clutch can bet fettled, so dont let that be a stumbling block & have fun on whatever you end up with...

:)

Thanks Felix.

BF, thanks again. The AF1 option sounds just the ticket, they state it reduces effort by 16.5%, so that should be ok for me.

Time to go Tuono shopping.....
