My 58 plat tuono 1000 v twin been laid up for about 6 months clutch soft and not working any ideas

Yes have done that can the clutch sieze if not used?

I would doubt it but it is possible, I know there are issues with the Brembo seals but if you've bled it the seals should be holding.

Have you tried to ride it or is it to difficult to get into gear.

You say it's soft so I'll assume it's not working well enough for you to engage a gear.

Deffo sounds like there's a problem on the hydraulic side of it,,,,,,,,if the clutch plates were jammed then you would feel more resistance the further you pulled in the clutch lever.

Hope you get it sorted.

Probably the slave cylinder seal, best fix is an Oberon slave, or replace the seal AP workshops have them in stock about £20 I think, I've just done mine.

No it's very loose as if nothing there but fluid is going down to bleeding nipple but not shore if it working from there to clutch?

And there's fluid in the reservoir?
If the seal has gone you should be able to see the fluid at the bottom of the slave.

Mucker I just remembered there's a tiny wee adjuster in the lever assembly that may have worked it's way out.

Have a look and see if yer can seeit.

I remember this from when I fitted ASV levers to mine, I had to file down a 7mm openender to make the adjustments to the lever.

Have a close look and if yer can't see the adjuster remove the lever and that'll let you see where it is.

If nowt else it'll let yer clean things up and give yer a better understanding of whit's involved.

BTW mucker the adjuster is on the end of/part of the actuating rod the goes into the master cylinder from the lever.

There is a sliding adjustable plunger on the master cylinder where the lever pumps it. It has a tiny Allen screw which adjusts and fixes position. It's slightly possible that has moved. My old Futura needs the clutch bled in the spring and it always takes a little bit longer than I would like.
Hope you're riding again soon.
