Hey guys quick question my T is getting close to 30000 K and the clutch is starting to slip when going for a wheelie, is that the sort of life expectancy from the standard clutch. Main reason I ask is I did an oil change when I replaced my stator and couldn't get my normal oil and had to use something else and wondering if that has killed my clutch

A clutch only wears when your using it,ie pulling away ,burn outs wheelies and such,so it's down to rider style and abuse normally and a proper bike oil shouldn't harm it but car oil will as it contains slipper additives

Agree with Blade. Depends how hard a clutch has been used/abused. If only mildly slipped for 1st gear starts, they can last beyond 100k miles.

Using the wrong grade oil (including fully synthetic) can definitely cause clutch slip, so worth checking the spec used with someone who knows about "wet clutch" oil specs...

check the adjuster on the clutch lever. also never had a problem with running fully synth in any bike.

Oil all complies is the right grade and a full syn 4 stroke bike oil. Clutch does get used a lot. I do a lot of heavy traffic riding and tend to use the clutch a lot to keep it smooth while filtering through the cars and I do have an addiction to the dreaded wheel stand. Another reason I think theres a bit of wear on the old clutch is I almost refill my clutch cylinder reservoir on nearly every service

If you are having to top up your clutch fluid That is more than likely you clutch slave cylinder leaking or something not really a sign of wear

It's synthetic oil with 'friction modifiers' that cause clutch slip, I understand. Most motorbike specific engine oils should be fine though.
