you are not alone, this is on another threat
fookin disaster here
On me way up to Red Lion at 12-50. Sun shining ,feeling good looking forward to maybe meeting you 2 then disaster struck.
As you know I put some new levers on a few days ago. Clutch gave up at the A6-Cleggs Lane junction right out side
Netto.
My fault. Put levers on ,pumped clutch a few times thought everything was dandy. Went up and down our road this morning and made sure the spans where right. No probs, off we go.
Bike was fine until
Netto then it just stoppped engaging. What I think happened is that their was pressure in the line that got me 2-3 miles, then it just went and the plunger rod on the new lever was not excactly the same length as the old one. Anyway ,stranded until our maud came up with the old lever and some tackle. Swapped the new one for the old one and hey presto, mended.
Any road I adjusted the new plunger rod to the same as the old one [i thought I'd already done this but obviously not] refitted that and :bigthumb. I had an idea what it was but theirs no screwdriver small enough or allen key small enough to do what was needed in the little toolkit you get with the bike. Again my fault as I've got a little tool kit I made up myself with all the tackle in I needed but just didn't have it with me
By this time it was 2-30 and I was getting grief cause it is youngest sprogs b-day and all the family were on their way.
Moral of this story is - if you change your clutch lever take some fookin tools with you on your first ride. I've changed clutch levers on Prillas before and never had this happen.
And if the suns out and its dry go for a fookin ride.
Tell you what though, I was at the side of the road for about half an hour -40 mins and obviously broken down and at least 6 bikes went passed. Not so much as a nod. Twats.
