hi guys can anyone help me ? im fitting some new brake and clutch levers nice gold shorty ones with red adjusters:yes no problem with the brake but there is a 1 inch threded part which seems to be held in with a grub screw which will only turn one turn on the clutch which i need to get out i dont want to break it so any ideas ? noone else seems to of had a problem is it just me being stupid ?:banghead

just found out its a push rod adjuster but the little **** grub screw will not undo ?? i will buy a new one !

hello slider, i,m sure there is a thread on here about these screws.. no pun intended.

if i can be arsed i,ll have a look, but i,m sure is easier for you.

I buggered the end of my push rod adjuster trying to get it out. I think I was initially trying to back it out not realizing I had it wrong. Wound up buying a new one from AF1 Racing. Saved my arse. Stock one is still safely stuck in the stock clutch lever.:crazy

thanx guys i did have a look but couldnt find anything :no i did the same as you tweaked halo . mine is now stuck in the lever forever ! but i went over to taz this morning and bought a new one result :cheers

Well im afraid i have bade news :p
I also had the same problem when fitting my shorty pazzos .

After much fecking about i found the grub screw .. and it was seized . Called aprilia up as i assumed i could just buy the parts i needed . But being a Brembo part i had to buy it complete . (£70+ )

So drilled out grub screw and retapped the hole and fitted a larger one and fitted the pazzos . Also be uber carfull with the pushrod lenth . I thought mine was fine but got 5 miles from home and the clutch started to slip and had alsorts of problems .

Never had tools with me so had to limp home and adjust.. Fine now but the adjustment is quite fine between right and no clutch .

Hope this helps

fookin disaster here
On me way up to Red Lion at 12-50. Sun shining ,feeling good looking forward to maybe meeting you 2 then disaster struck.
As you know I put some new levers on a few days ago. Clutch gave up at the A6-Cleggs Lane junction right out side Netto.
My fault. Put levers on ,pumped clutch a few times thought everything was dandy. Went up and down our road this morning and made sure the spans where right. No probs, off we go.
Bike was fine until Netto then it just stoppped engaging. What I think happened is that their was pressure in the line that got me 2-3 miles, then it just went and the plunger rod on the new lever was not excactly the same length as the old one. Anyway ,stranded until our maud came up with the old lever and some tackle. Swapped the new one for the old one and hey presto, mended.
Any road I adjusted the new plunger rod to the same as the old one [i thought I'd already done this but obviously not] refitted that and :bigthumb. I had an idea what it was but theirs no screwdriver small enough or allen key small enough to do what was needed in the little toolkit you get with the bike. Again my fault as I've got a little tool kit I made up myself with all the tackle in I needed but just didn't have it with me

By this time it was 2-30 and I was getting grief cause it is youngest sprogs b-day and all the family were on their way.
Moral of this story is - if you change your clutch lever take some fookin tools with you on your first ride. I've changed clutch levers on Prillas before and never had this happen.
And if the suns out and its dry go for a fookin ride.
Tell you what though, I was at the side of the road for about half an hour -40 mins and obviously broken down and at least 6 bikes went passed. Not so much as a nod. Twats.

thanx nobist and snaggle i hear ya ! i will make sure i have the right tools wiv me on my first ride out ; ) i did try to get it the exactly the same but you never know ? as for them bikers riding by nobist what tossers ? my new levers look the muts nuts tho !

Love the Pazzos on mine. I used a micrometer to quadruple check before putting it back together. And I was still wondering if I got it right. Given the the way I had already buggered the push rod trying to remove it. I didn't want to take a chance on the above scenario. So far 3 months later no worries. Sure was nice to get something right for a change.:cheers

happy new year everyone :cheers ive been out in the sunshine today (took tools with me ) went 20 miles or so no clutch slip or trouble so looking good it was great to be out :thumbup
