Finally decided my clutch plates are going in the bin (followed by some petrol and a lit match) :mad1

the amount of time i have spent pulling apart and putting back together my clutch, not to mention painstakingly scuffing up every single plate TWICE!! is ridiculous and after 200 miles of thinking things seemed to be going well now... it went completely f*d got in a situation which involved wanting to get the bloody hell out of there fast and of course the clutch slips under acceleration (flat out in 5th gear from like 35mph lol hardly peak power i would say) then low and behold the ride home after that got progressivly more and more clutch slippage until i could sit in 3rd gear 6000rpm and it was slipping :rant

i have simply had enough and its time to get some new plates sorry for the rant but the past 8 months or so seem to have been nothing but problem after problem for me and the bike so if i cannot sort this damned clutch by getting new plates im going to consider getting rid of the thing

what i would really like to know is what opinions you guys have on the various clutch plate kits around, theres the stock parts option, EBC 'heavy duty' plate kits, and the barnett kits

i have looked around trying to find out more about the barnett kits but cannot get a solid opinion on wether they are good or a complete waste of money

EBC kits i have used on previous bikes and were fairly decent but im just not sure if i want to go with something which might not be able to handle the power and torque of the rsv

then there is stock plates, which have some of the most hideous price differences imaginable and can be priced anywhere from £50 (EBC sorta money) to £150 (barnett kinda money) :confused

id really like some help on this one guys

Check your Pressure Plate

If you are experiencing clutch slippage, and have engine number 689953 and below, you first need the updated pressure plate (part #0259517)

Griff reckons they can slip if you use fully synthetic oil, instead of semi-synthetic (although I used it for ages with no problem - don't tell him:dowhat).
