Well guys decided to change my clutch jet today after getting a new one from Aprilia, all went well until I tried to remove it , on closer inspection some one had been there before me and some how had chewed the slot up on the jet , so where do i go from here any advice how to get it out ?. Wondering about drilling then jamming a torque drive into it ?? . Only get one crack at this I think oo err

Is it loose at all or stuck solid still?? I take it the head where the flathead screwdriver sits is buggered?? If you can get it loosened at all, jam a cocktail stick in it and try prise it out that way mate...

Got the little ******* out ,it was him or me !!!!!!!!!!

hey andi ive been meaning to ask you for a while but keep forgetting ,i take it you do the racing at eastfortune ,do you know a guy called davie louden hes a mille racer also .hes been racing for years

Well I used my trusty dremel too make a slot in the screw too undo it but because all the edges of the jet had mushroomed out , it wouldnt come out , and I hate using extractors ( if they snap off your knackered) . So I used a soft self tapping screw just to get a grip on it , and hey presto all done new jet in no leaks , now wasnt that easy like hell it was. Why is it allways the bolt or screw with the worse access to it that gives you problems ???

hi eddie , did the new jet fix your problem mate also what years yer bike ? my 02 mille R clutch works as smooth as silk but my 08 rsvR is a pain in the arse to get in and out of gear ive blead the hell out of it and adjusted it and ****** about with it but cant cure the problem ,i think im going to strip the clutch out and see if theres anything ****** .

Tried that method and it just wont grab hold of the jet.. Thinking about drilling a hole and using reverse threads.. any ideas?

Should be made from Brass and very soft, a really gentle drill, going up in sizes may do the job, I have a dremel if you need it.

With the bike on its own stand, should minimise any swarf going into the engine.

Can't think of any other way myself. (Can you Spot weld onto brass ?) would give some more options.

Not sure mate. Ive fot a dremel cheers but think im going to leave it.... for now
