Hi all

Why do I have to keep topping up my clutch fluid every few weeks, it appears to not leak anywhere or drip on the floor. Any idea's please?

Regards

Lee

If you run your fingers along the bottom of the clutch slave cylinder ( forward of sprocket cover ) you might find your losing fluid there ??

If so the rubber on the piston might be shot ?

Did mine for the second time two weeks ago , lasted about 9 k since the last one went in .

Strip it down

insert new rubber ,

lube it up with some vaseline ,

pour a little new fluid into the housing ,

carefully push piston back in ,

bolt it all back up and bleed clutch ,

Job done .

Probably less than an hours work even for a numpty of my calibre !!: thumbup

Is it a good idea to lube the seal with vaseline. It can damage some rubber products and also probably does not mix well with brake/clutch fluid. Better to lube with brake/clutch fluid I'd say.

Rob :)

Better off using red rubber grease, that's meant for assembling brake seals so would be perfect for the clutch slave :thumbup
