Hi, could someone tell me the difference (if any) between a fast idle lever, and a choke?

If the lever on my bike is a fast-idle, does my bike also have an automatic choke?

Sorry for my ignorance :)

Paul your bike does not have an automatic choke.
The "fast idle" lever works, to all intents and purposes, like a choke.

Stay away from the throttle when starting the bike, use the fast idle lever only.

Yeah, I have learned about the throttle, after a few flooding incidents... I guess I will go and Google a choke then, as I am pretty familiar with the mechanism on this bike, which you say is a fast idle. Cheers for the response

The Tuono is a fuel injected bike,...it does not have a choke.A choke is fitted to carbed bikes to slightly restrict the air intake and enrich the fuel mixture.
The fast idle lever is just that,...a lever to raise the engine idle speed at small increments. It does not work like a choke.

Hmm, feeling foolish. Injected, no carbs, knew that at some point, recent problem with rich fuel getting to my brain...
