Chicken Strips

Aye..... Newls min up yer rear, noo that is frightenin....whits even scarier is haein PMyth up the front....

.....soonds like the worlds "worst an sickest spit roast" scenario!!!

I wish they'd sold chicken strips in that last pub we called in on Sunday I was bloody starving. Dont have to ride fast to get rid of sheen on the edge of the tyres so doesn't prove anything anyway. All depends where you live. I live near twisty country roads so I get even wear all over my tyres and no strips but wouldn't say I'm a particularly fast rider. Efficient is how I'd like to be described when it comes to riding.

I did see a woman on a Ducati 1098 on the weekend and I've seen her a few times around our area and she has quite big chicken strips which is hard on the roads we have around our way. I dont think any less of her as a rider just think that its a complete waste of a bike when she'd be far more comfortable on a CBR600 or summat. Prob just the presteige of owning a 1098 and if she can afford it good luck to her as I don't ride with her (she is attractive and I wouldn't mind riding with her ;)) she doesn't hold me up. Each to their own I say.

As for the 80 year old he has a cheek mentioning anything really. I wouldn't go up and say something to anyone about their tyres although I do piss take on here now and again about them. That is just piss taking though.

Its important to get rid of the sheen on a new tyre just for grip though.

Some of the fast riding I've din wis on a CBR600. Nivir done ony fast riding on an attractive woman yet though:( big sigh

I was very lucky, I was a late learner and once i'd passed my test had help and Knowledge from experienced riders who never pushed me to go faster than i was comfortable with and only ever drilled one rule into me "Do your own thing" no ribbing about chicken strips, riding fast or anything else like that, pushing people beyond their comfort zone causes accidents and takes the fun out of a hobby that SHOULD be fun.

There's nae chicken strips oan my rear tyre and I'm not that fast, as Slomo said it depends on whit type of roads you ride oan. There are **** loads of roonaboots near me this helps tyre wear a lot

How's about these chicken strips. I don't ride that fast & this is what I end up with.

If that's what u end up when u ride tricky what's that White stuff in the side. I know riding a t is enjoyable but euuurrggggghhh

One thing I wood say abowt the picks at the start of this thred , a cupple of clicks of rebownd clockwise woodent go a miss shocks warking up and down to hard and quickly , so the tier is getting worked to hard wich leeds to tairing and premachure wearing of the tier .

iff your saspenshon is set up right ,its acherly quit hard to get to the edge of a 190'50 tier on the road there allways seems to be 4 to 6 mm left on the edge even wen you have got it on its ear in good twistys .
even on track days it looks as though its there look harder ,it hasent been to the edge its just melted rubber powshed out to the edge , , this is not a bad thing ,it gives you a safty margen if you do have to put it right over on its ear wen a bend caches you out and you have to push that bit moor on the Bars to get your self out of the **** .:thumbup

I like cornering so chicken strips are nae moor after a couple hundred klicks on Andiamo. My edges are a little shredded after the Washington trip, but then us Auld Fogeys ride like asshats in the corners. Best thing tae cure chicken strip fear is a trackday or two so you can find out what your T and yourself are capable of in a safe environment.

Boogie on my children.
