ok finaly found the problem with the full throttle sticking at oulton last week..the butterflies are loose..all seemed fine closed fine snapped closed fine didnt make any sence..so pulled it all apart n all was ok..then a mate of mine pulled on the butterfly and it moved 8th of an inch..so what must have been happening is when on full throttle for any lenth of time the vibration shakes the fly down, then when it closes it jams on the side of the throttle body, then vibrates it self back again hence it all looks fine when you look at it..

All been loctited up n fingers crossed it never happens again..:thumbup

No hold on!!
Not just locktite jou have to, and now my English is letting me down , rivet or something.
I have my TB at a tuner to bore them.
He does this more often and told me Locktite is not sufficient.
He has seen big damages of screws coming lose.
Hit the screws with a hammer ore something, give it support from beneath.

and there was me thinking i was all done...will have to be a small rivet..will av a look tonight..thanks mate

Just scar it so if it comes loose it can't get completely out.
You don't want to know what a tiny screw can do to you're engine!!

Years ago I did a fair bit of tunning on SU carbs (Mini Coopers etc) and always used butterfly retaining screws that were split at the thread end - so you screw them in tight with your blob of Loctite, then open up the end of the split screw like you would a split pin - cant shake out - simples.

Just what I was gonna say:thumbup Very bad if one ended up dropping in the intake.

Also doing this doesn't carry the same risk of bending the shaft that peening the screw over carries.
