Well folks i've finally lost my cat and fiddle cherry:doug

After 9 year of riding and a few lost attempts at riding to the peaks to see what all the fuss is about, i finally made it there yesterday. I can see why it is the most dangerous road in britain with the :jack artics driving along there. What are they bloody thinking, its a bike road for chris sakes not a truck road.

Shame its a bit short really but still a nice stretch of tarmac none the less:thumbup. I also like the A53 from buxton to leek, thats a faster road and more flowing. One question though, why are all the nice roads in derbyshire all 50mph limit:jack.

Glad i did the fiddle on a V twin, but i think that road would be better suited to a tuono or the like:bounce Next time hopefully i'll be with some mates to make the journey up there a little more interesting.

Great pics Spud, bike looks fantastic !:thumbup

Yeah, been over the Cat and Fiddle a good number of times, and to be honest, you`ve probably done the right thing doing it the first time on your own, as things can get a bit bonkers when you`re out with mates (as we all know :devious), and the Fiddle is NOT a road to d1ck about on !

Nice pics fella! I love the cat n fiddle, dont it twice, no doubt ill be there again for my annual visit next year :)

Oh my old playground,,,, :inlove

LOng way to come from good old Pompey, Gasboy:biggrin The last time I went up to the C&F pub, in the corridor to the bogs there was a photo of our lass waving to Frankie Chili at Donington!!:thumbup Don't know if it's still there.

Yeah just to run a pub in Hope Valley (Bradwell),,,:thumbup

Cat & Fiddle is overrated in my view, not far from me, been over it loads, overated. :done Peak District has loads of traffic and sheep wandering about on the moors roads. :jack Wrote off a ZX9 coming back from Oulton Park 8 years ago on the Conga (Congleton - Buxton), broken foot and wrist, hit a Horse Box coming the other way.:doh
Prefer the more open, faster flowing roads in Lincs, Humberside, Yorkshire etc.::doug:doug

cat and fiddle is overrated compared to its fame but still a crackin road and derbyshire in general are best roads I've ridden up until 9.30am. after that its a waste of time if you want to have a hoon.

do you ever venture up to owler bar? up there most sundays bout 7.30ish wi pash41, be good to see some more rsv's out:thumbup

Yep, often go over Owler Bar when i'm working in Dronfield.:devious
Fecking bikes off the road at the moment, waiting for a new (second hand)coil. Started acting up up on me at Cadwell Sept 2nd, been down to Griffs, diagnosed as coil pack. Hopefully be back on the road next week. Give us a shout next time you're out!:thumbup

Will do, Usually up there most sundays. but getting fecking cold now at that time in morning. hopefully get a few more early mornings in before weather toally fcuked?:dunno

I've never done that road, keep meaning to, but always get pulled towards the N.Yorks moors :dougwhere/whats the owler bar

owler bar is roundabout edge of derbyshire/sheffield type it in google map on satellite view and follow it down a621(i think) to baslow. thats a good road. you get plenty of bikes playing round there on a good morning. cat and fiddle bout 20 mins away with some crackin roads in between

I know Owler Bar well, me and my beloved have been to Peacock for meals quite a few times, and one of the kids favourite places is Foxhouse. We don't live far away, at Killamarsh. You up there this Sunday, Brooky?

Foxy I should be up there for 8am at latest, will see if pash41 is up for it but he's just become a dad for first time and might be busy?

mkw007 have you sorted your bike? you up for a meet at owlerbar?

Bike now sorted with Griff's help, fecking coil was faulty! Going to Silverstone for BSB this Sunday, would be up for it on Saturday though if you're interested, or next sunday.:thumbup
