Well

From an AUSSIE point if view, I was at the race and it was awesome!!

I am not a big fan of Stoner most of the time, trackside I can tell you I think Rossi just didnt have the speed to get him.

Stoner was sideways at of turn 4 at 240kph and on the edge, maybe Rossi played it safer, STILL would have had trouble getting past Casey that day.

The best part, after the race in the back of the pits my son who came with me got to meet Nicky Hayden and Alex De Angelis and got some great signatures on his top, GREAT DAY!!

Could only get with 4 feet of Rossi and Stoner, they were just mobbed

Still a great day, and a deserving win to the little AUSSIE WHO COULD :thumbup

Aussie Perspective

From an aussie perspective, it's fantastic to see an Aussie win no matter what sport we are contesting.

Is Casey the No1 PR, Media savvy person in the paddock...No, that title belongs to Rossi, but we aussies still admire Casey for his ability and his drive and determination to WIN.

I think he probably has answered his critics (i was sceptical) in the last 2 races that the time off was exactly what he needed to do. The proof will be next year if he wins tghe World Championship.

And Adriana is STUNNING!!!!

I must have been watching a different race to the guy's that say Rossi couldn't of got past :dunno. The only place Stoner was faster was the last couple of corner's onto the start finish straight, Rossi could make up the ten to twelve bike length's on the break's at the end of the straight into turn one, but when he was only three or four bike length's back he didn't pass him :dunno. I think if he'd "HAD" to beat Stoner he would of been past him there, and then won the race. Maybe he thought Stoner would use up his tyre's and he'd get past him in the last few lap's ??. At the end they were both doing great lap time's and I agree that Rossi didn't have the speed to get past Stoner, but middle of the race ???. I think Rossi has tasted tarmac to much this year already, and as Lorenzo was out he played it safe, it wouldn't of been the first time this year he'd thrown away good point's just to get the win.

From an aussies point of view ' simply i just give credit where it is due', both Rossi & Stoner rode hard and made a good race worth watching. They both showed their world champion class skills, however Stoner on home turf like Phillip Island will always be hard to beat, he knows it so well. Long live rivalry in motogp, it makes it better viewing for us wannabes

I wanna see him ride that bike with all the electronis turned off, Ducati have built that bike exclusively around him.

its not all about the electronics, if it was Hayden and the others would be able to ride the bike as well.....give the guy credit where its due

I'm not saying he's a bad rider................far from it , lets face it anybody that makes it into that league is at the top of their game and he is certainly one of the best, however Ducati have "customised" their moto gp effort for him, all I am syaing is how well would he go without the electronics and as Ducati have more of the stuff on their bike than anybody else.

Actually I am biased I dont like the guy he's a whinging little git , just like Mark Webber, after all its in an Aussie's make up to whinge & whine and bowl underarm.

Bring back the 500 two smokers!! Lets see stoner, pedrosa etc manhandle one of those bad boys, they certainly sorted the men from the boys

traction control? launch control? Forget it! It should be down to the riders finesse on the throttle, not some magic box making all the decisions.

Its still more than 50% rider input....NO ONE on here could handle them bikes like they do :nana

Indeed !!.

I'd like to see most of the present guy's finish a race on the 500's..there are only a couple of guy's still there from the old 500 era aren't there ? Vale, Loris... that's it isn't it ??. I think most of the guy's would throw themselves at the kitty litter on those bad boy's. JB once said the new guy's are the Play Station generation !!.. I'd like to see the return of the 990's..

I think people seem to forget that casey, pedrosa, lorenzo etc all came form the 250 class:roll, i'm sure if the 500s were still around they would still have mastered them too. I do miss the 990s but things have moved on.

Yeah Ducati built their bike around stoner, but so has yamaha for rossi, honda for pedrosa. If your a manufacturer thats what you do if you want to win!

Anyway well done to Stoner for riding hard and winning, shame Lorenzo went down as Rossi doesn't need to battle for the win now.
