I only caught the tail end of the motogp yesterday but was surprised to see the totally underwhelming reaction from the ausies at his home gp.

I knew he wasn't the most popular rider in the UK but thought he had a bit of support at home:dunno

Maybe some of the Ausies on here could shed some light.
 
I don't think he's a well liked rider anywhere really, I know he's not one of my fave's.

Maybe the Aussie's realised he only won because Rossi didn't "NEED" to win :dunno :biggrin . Most of the Aussie guy's I know hate losing or giving up, Stoner took time out in the middle of a Championship fight, I don't think that went down well.
 
Yes I noticed that. Perhaps he pisses everyone off, even fellow countrymen.

It's also the first time I've seen Rossi not fight for the win. It was obvious he could match Stoner but he played Capt Sensible and went for the points.
I hate to say it but F1 later in the day was more exciting - and I normally won't watch that cos it's so boring.
 
are you sure rossi could match him..get close yes...mmmnnn but couldnt pass..i agree he didnt have to win but knowing Rossi i think he would have tried
 
I agree with redratbike, Rossi will always get through if he possibly can. He said himself what a fun battle it was. Points or no points, he was giving it all to try and pass. Plus a chance to rub stoners nose in it on his home turf? No way would the doc have passed that up. He is only human after all! Oh and by the way im a Rossi fan all the way, in case anyone thinks im doubting him as the greatest man ever on two wheels :)
 
Stoner may be an irritating little geek but he rides the arse of that Duke when nobody else can get it to do anything. I love the Dr. and really believe he's the GOAT but Stoner's even more exciting to watch than Rossi.
 
Spanish people, including myself, like Stoner. His riding is really agressive and spectacular. He's not a PR person and sometimes says things that annoy people but without him, Moto GP is even more boring.
 
quick butt in here ,remember foggy ??? now that was an [and still is] arsehole but by god he was mega ....corser ??? miserable **** .... pedrosa ? short **** !!! and so on and so on even toselands a **** on track and pre race but there all gods to me troops

I kin hate stoner with a passion but by god he can ride that old italian bus

I am a big fan of rossi have been since his early 125 days but I think he isnt taking as many risks as he would usually , he wants this title prob more than last year because lorenzo is on the same team and bike

take all the electronics off and I think rossi would play with the rest as he did before

Agree with this too.

I'm also a HUGE Rossi fan and beleive me He WAS trying.
But Stoner was just too good on his home track and I beleive Rossi done a banker and played it relatively safe 2/3rds distance and settled for the 2nd place points.knowing full well that Lorenzo was scoring NIL POINTS after tangling with Haydens rear wheel at 190mph:eek:
 
Rossi himself said he gave 100%..Stoner was the better rider on the day

why is it when rossi dont win the fans say he wasnt trying....Sunday he WAS trying all the comentators were saying so...so did Rossi himself

Also why hate the guy when he's a bloody good rider and the only one who can ride the Ducati....sure he aint as fun going as Rossi but nor is pedrosa or a few of the others

Do you watch MotoGP for personalities or racing ?????
 
love the way they were sliding around the bends...at the beginning of the year i had high hopes for Hayden and was hoping he could get on with the Duc ..shame as i really rate him as a rider

Yeah but he has been i'll hasn't he :dunno riding at that level if your not 100* fit is just too dangerous, I think he should be given some credit for realising this and droping out while he fully recovered :eatcorn

I think for me it's a bit of both, i like the antics after a win from Rossi :biggrin shows he's not up his own arse although he'd probably like to be :biggrin

yes that is true but its that extra 10% that he could push if he wasn't being hounded by lorenzo in the championship

he rode 100% but didn't take any risks

he himself said last year he had to ride beyond 100% to keep up or beat stoner
 
Stoner lost all my respect after Laguna last year whining like a **** :thatsgay I liked him before that despite throwing himself in the hedge every week before t/c came along. Rossi, rides like he still loves it not cos its his job, funny likeable fellow, and the best circuit rider there as ever been imo :hail
 
They are all amazing and give 100% at every race. No one settles for anything although they all say that when they can't get past someone.

Also please no one kill me for saying this but does anyone else think Rossi and his "Best mate" are more than best mates:dunno
