Casey Stoner throwing his rattle? *SPOILERS*

tell you what
i was knackered, got in bed to watch; what i thought, would be another boring moto gp race...
By lap 2 i was out of bed on the edge of my matress, blood rushing, enjoying superb racing at its best (from both riders)

Casey is a spoilt brat, but h is still a fantastic rider, just wants things his own way all the time

Rossi's moves were hard, but fair, no-one thinks for one minute rossi meant to go off on the corkscrew and keep it pinned, you watch the slow mo - foot off peg and everything

casey rode fantastically also, can you imagine trying to overtake rossi and keep him behind you at those speeds on a trak with no straight....

more races like that after the summer break please

reminds me of Rossi and Gibernau - superb (best race in 2 yrs and not because Rossi won)

In that particular part of the circuit...i think that is as clean as it could have been with the racing that close. Ya right Steve he needs to toughen up & take an incident like that on the cheek. Dats racing when the heat is on!

That was the best, most exciting MotoGP Ive seen in years. Real edge of the seat stuff. In a way I was relieved when Stoner stuffed up cos I dont think my heart could have take a full race! Excellent stuff.

It does go to show that while Stoner is undeniably fast he aint the Racer that Rossi is. If you had every thing the young Aussie has you would think you would smile a bit , wouldnt you?

It was rumoured that Gibernau was due to be at Laguna with Ducati to observe. Anyone know if he was there? I'm rather guessing he wish he hadn't bothered if he was........being reminded of how Rossi has the ability and racecraft to "play" with his opponents heads whilst in the heat of a full on race.

I definately agree with Burgess and his comments re Schwantz, Rainey, Doohan, Lawson et al. Those aren't rose coloured spectacles, that was racing. If you didn't have the fastest bike then you stuck it in front at any opportunity you had and made it twice as hard for the guy behind you to pass. Racing isn't about letting the fastest man win now is it! :nana


Stoner is a great rider, no question. I don't think he is handling the Rossi effect too well having said that. We've all got to try to understand though, that at the end of the day Stoner is a racer, and he wants to win, non stop win. Better luck next time Casey. Long may the show go on! :thumbup

rossi rocks and if stoner has the full race pedigree of the DOCTOR he will pick his chin up and learn from the master or like been said he will go into full GIBERNAU MENTAL melt down

Cant see how stoner can have a problem with the collision on the corkscrew. Does he actually believe Rossi would intentionally ride on the gravel on one of the scariest parts of motorcycle race track EVER? I really don't want to bash Stoner because I think he would have won that race in the last lap, but maybe his young head caused him to chance it in the wrong place at the wrong time?

its not often he actualy has to race with another rider and i think when he watches it back he will realise that it was raceing at its highest and rossi is a good tackticle rider not that he isn't .but think he will learn alot from that race lets hope there's more to come

He could have just been doing a dummy spit role play for Tom Cruise's next movie :megaphone
