Hi Folks,

Im planning getting a set of tank shields for my bike of a guy i know who makes this stuff and they are £20/set but not sure if thats pricey or not? They look the balls quality wise and properly moulded parts and it comes with a tank "chin" protector that ive never seen before to stop your helmet scratching the tank when tucked in behind the screen! prepreg ones lacquered are £25, and "wetlay" ones are £15.. I just dont want to buy them if they are £5 elsewhere (not that its a big amount of money, but for the annoying factor!)

please let me know your thoughts guys as it would be useful.

cheers

can you get any pics of these bits?..are they in the uk????

think he may be able to sell quite a few on here ..maybe get them cheaper yourself and do him some good feedback on the aprilia forums and he should see some orders rolling in off the back of it

seem to be struggling to upload a pic directly from my computer? im i just being ******** here? :)

Anyway, they are UK made, and he says they are full prepreg carbon fibre or wetlay carbon fibre but they look really good. If someone could advise how to upload photos or if i could email someone then its no problem..

you'd need to host the pictures first ... somewhere like photobucket

then copy the photobucket photo's link and paste it in your reply

carbon pictures!

OK guys,

Managed to get the pics loaded up. he has sent me pics for the RSV and the RS250 for some reason, but i think its because the RS250 pics show the carbon quality better..

anyway let me know your thoughts, ive come to the conclusion im just gonna buy them as they do look ace! :)

If anyone has questions regarding them or other stuff, let me know as i can easily ask the question or give you details if you want to deal direct.

speak soon!

Hi there,

I'll ask him to take some pics of the cover on a tank (if he has one to refer too) , but im sure he can get some from whoever he's sold to.

H..

He did say if anyone is wanting something different done, he would do it no problem as long as he had something to copy or mould from. But im sure if you wanted one done he would do it no problem.. the guys down the road are a good bunch.

looking forward to your thoughts

cheers

carbon fibre tanks and bodywork

mmmnnn custom carbon bits

Here is some pics of the tank pads etc fitted onto an old tank. Ive just bought a set and they seemed to be very nice. These boys have a strict quality control setup going on, and they are even offering what they call "B-grade" units for £10-15 a set which isnt bad at all i dont think. was planning trying to buy them from them for ebay! :)

Anyway, ive come up with a thought...

As these lads are pretty much game for anything, what are peoples thoughts on full carbon bodywork and tanks? I know they were looking into the possibility of composite wheels to compete with BST after they read into all the testing laws etc, but I thought if there was enough interest on here for composite tanks, then there might be a level of arm twisting for them. I know the guys that work there have done F1 work and even WSB stuff, but most of the work is outside the bike industry, and in aviation etc but they are all keen riders and one guys used to race there, so it wouldnt take a great deal to convince them to make the moulds and they are only a small company... if they see potential interest...who knows?

just an idea but let me know what you all think?

:)
