Hey guys

When I pull up no matter how hard I push or pull the gear lever I cannot get it in nuetral, half the time ... it wont change at all! Strangley though, if I turn off (leaving it in first) and then turn back on the ignition - but don't start the engine - it will change very easily.

Any ideas? :dunno

edit: and yes, i have the clutch fully in - as can be demonstrated by the trouble free gear change with the engine off.

ummmm .... ok? I've got it going back to Bikewise to replace the rear master cylinder at the weekend so I guess I can get them to do that as well. I'm guessing its not a big job?

if it going in let them do it i say . my rear master cylinder went also as well as both cylinders on the bars (all brembo stuff ) brembo had a bad batch of seals and all mine where affected . been replaced now for 3 years nearly as it happened when new and no probs since ...

what year is your bike ? mine is an 05 on 06 plate from 06 on the rsv had the 0.40 clutch jet fitted which makes the clutch better/lighter etc

Hi!Your clutch plates are dragging.Clutch drag.If at all times warm and cold, suspect adjustment, too thick an oil(semi synethetic 20/50 did this in my '01 Mille)oil needs changing for a 10/50(I use and it's fine Q8,SBK in Superbike racing)most here use 15/50.Very,very hard to find).A change to the smaller oil jet(do a search)below clutch slave cylinder.Check.first clutch fluid......correct level...usually dark, from seal(slave cyl).A seal is available from RSVRacing, about £8 or triple sealed Evolution slave cyl or MPL.Phew.

Hey guys

im thinking it might just be the bleeding. I have noticed in the past week that the biting point is getting closer to the handlebar although, I can still achieve a "no bite" so wasn't too worried.

Its an 07 RSV-R - not sure which year it was made but its a Bol'dor if that helps you work that out?

Indeed, I will get them to look- it has a month left on warranty so if this helps, great!

PS.I take it you've tried bleeding it with no success. What did you think of the SP1.A mate has a 'Storm, with horrendous mpg and tank range('kept that quite Honda eh?).Poor charging and now a bent valve('never sorted them camchain tensioners did you Honda).

I ain't tried nuffin your honour!!! :devious

I don't know one end of a spanner from a wrench  I'll let bikewise start the basics.

SP1 was great. Loved it to bits but it was knocking on a bit so got rid. Lacked power compared to the rsv but i have to say, it was even easier than the rsv to sling through corners - maybe as it was going slower?:biggrin

And yeah, the SP1 had a **** range as well. Could just about get to the end of my drive before needing petrol.

taa very much.

I'm really liking all that polishing you've done, makes it looks sweeeeeet. Shame my wheels are red :(

if i were you i would polish them bar ends and get in touch with boyler on here for some carbon ears and a hugger .

boylers carbon is second to none hand made and quality see my garage .

also his prices are really good . my hugger, ears and front mud guard were £194 inc post all in . fantastic and a good bloke ask anybody on here pal .....:thumbup

ps red wheels on yours look right ,polished wheels look god on a silver bike and black imo. and i never get my bike wet which would be a prob with polished wheels

yeah sounds like a good plan. When i get back into financial stability (just had a month off work) i'll give him a shout.

Thanks for the advice!

taa very much! I'm a firm believer that those that slag of the 24hr paint scheme are people who have not actually seen one in the flesh. When i've taken it down the Ace Cafe, people have flocked around it ... even though its covered in commuting dirt!

Stuza, it's your clutch master cylinder next to the clutch lever that needs a quick bleed. Just open the bleed nipple and pull the clutch in slowly, then tighten the bleed nipple back up and release the lever. Repeat a couple of times and all will be well. Protect you paintwork with a towel or similar

Job done! Even a non-spanner monkey like me managed this :devious

One question, now the biting point has moved out the otherway and its really dificult to find, any ideas?
