I recently installed Tigcrafts and love them, but I was wondering if on those times when I'm out late and need to get back home quietly (don't want to wake the significany other), can I run the standard cans using map2? I'm wondering if it might be safer to kill the bike away from the house and start pushing.

I've done it with no bad effects at all. I've mentioned this before on here, that I also drilled a 1.5"" hole through the cats and did a track day with them as a quick fix. They were slightly louder than standard cans and the bike ran perfectly both on the motorway and track. Couldn't tell at all.

Since I have the stock cans sitting around, I may try cutting the cats. If I recall from other can threads, it takes a 1.5 inch hole saw (maybe go through 3 or 4 before you are finished). I did find that Tigcraft sells baffles for my pipes for $35 each. I ordered a set hoping that they might cut down the noise enough. I like the idea of being about to quickly and easily quiet the bike a little when I'm heading out early in the monring for a ride or when I'm coming home a little too late. It keeps the neighbors happy.

I probably shouldn't have said my significant other. Rather than getting into the whole sordid mess, it's really my ex-significant other. Just happen to live in the same neighborhood and she keeps tabs on me. I need to move, but in this market, selling isn't really an option.
