giday fellas, what are the thoughts on 4pad calipers as opposed to the 2pad calipers, are the p4's a step up from the p2's i have on the T
cheers mick

Well strictly speaking YES... but Hmmmmm more than yes 100%.

The P4 calipers were developed for the Ducati 996R and 748R and for early race homologation in WSB. They are arguably better but to be honest when i've used them (multiple bikes) they're ony a little bit better.

The standard Brembo goldline calipers are sweet as they are and with OE pads and new fluid will stop you in a microsecond.

If you get the P4's and throw on a set of Performance Friction pads, yeah they'll stop you, without a shadow of a doubt.

I'd trust both with my life.. none really more than the other.

The P4's also look a little prettier and the pad holding/removal system is a little nicer.

Finally, the P4 pads are a fair chunk more expensive for a set than the standard old calipers.

one thing for both... there's a set of pads on ebay, GOLD pads. They are the worst things ever made for a motorcycle.. do not under any circumstances use them.

Set of decent OEM or even SBK/SBS/Perf Friction pads, new fluids and decent lines... you're good with either.

Hardly any difference to ride. TBH I prefer the non-radial brakes.
Not so "grabby"

thanks for the thoughts gents, may i ask another, the sach on the back seems ok; how much better is the ohlins, i've put an ohlins on other bikes and they did improve their handling, just interested with the T
cheers mick

My Tuono R 2008 came with P2 calipers. I then upgraded to ohlins forks and the P4 factory calipers.....

IMHO there is no difference between the two sets of calipers but I cannot say the same thing for the forks (i.e. showa vs ohlins)..

Finally I now use a set of Brembo Monoblock calipers (P34/34) and the difference was noticeable from the start..Far better feeling and stopping power even from low speeds.:yes
