Following on from the previous thread, I've now spoken to the guys at Easy Track & they are happy to help out with a forum get together at their Cadwell Park track day on Friday 18th March. They are going to set up a dedicated reference code for us to use so we can either book online or over the phone. I will have all details including how to book, times, days itinerary etc... by this time tomorrow so will post on here then.
The long & short of it is we need to get 10 riders plus to attend. In return we will then be entitled to a 15% discount off the £85 entry fee. The day will be run as a semi-open pit meaning they will have two groups, a slow & a fast. If you, or they feel you can keep pace in both, you can ride both, meaning plenty of track time for all. They can run a max of 60 riders on the day & space is filling up already so we need to get involved sharpish. There will be a booking deadline (probably the end of Jan beginning of Feb) but again I will confirm when I have all details tomorrow.
For those riders sitting on the fence & not sure whether to take the plunge for your first track day, I asked what ability a semi-open pit would suit & they told me they actually specialise / attract the novice riders. Being the low number of entries allowed, they are able to keep a close eye on everyone & because of the amount of track time available, it's not uncommon to see as few as 15 riders out at one time. Usual track day rules apply regarding clothing. One or two piece (zip together) suit, acu approved helmet, gloves & boots.
The idea is to get a few like minded people together for fun & ****. It's the only time you can push yourself & your bike a little more than on the road. Smooth tarmac, all going the same way, no man hole covers, strip banding, junctions to consider. It's a no pressure day, so leave your ego at the door or just let your riding on track do the talking. I'm going to have a wobble about on my new bike so if you fancy joining me why not book up, it don't matter how fast you are or who's got the best bit of kit, we all ride for the same reasons, right?
Until tomorrow, Robbo
PS. Anyone got an issue with me posting this on some other Ape forums to try get the numbers up?
