BAYLISS - The Australian nearly set a "Full Monty" at Brno as he recorded his 22nd pole position, one more than Carl Fogarty. He went on to dominate the races racking up his fifteenth double (the third this year) and reaching 48 wins in his career. He also scored his 43rd fastest lap in race 1. His double podium finish moved him ahead of Aaron Slight in the all-time ranking, now Troy with 88 podiums is in third place behind Corser (122) and Fogarty (109).

QUALIFYING NOTES

* Max Biaggi again started from the front row after Qatar;

* Three out of four riders on the front row were the same as those present in Misano. They are Bayliss, Corser and Fabrizio. Bayliss is on a streak of eight front row starts (since Australia).

RACE NOTES

* In completing both races Troy Corser became the first rider to pass the mark of 6000 laps raced in the World Championship, stopping at 6021;

* Bayliss scored the first wins for Ducati at Brno since 1996;

* For the first year since racing at Brno resumed in 2005, Suzuki wasn't able to record a win in one of the races;

* In race 2 Ducati filled the podium with its bikes, for the second time this year after Misano, race 2;

* Michel Fabrizio managed to climb twice on the podium in third and second places. The Italian has notched up five of his nine podiums at Brno;

* Niccolò Canepa gained his first points in his debut race.

NOTES ON THE OTHER CHAMPIONSHIPS

* Broc Parkes recorded his fifth straight pole in Supersport and he is one pole away from the all-time record sequence (Muggeridge, Monza-Imola 2004). None of these poles have become wins for Parkes, who recorded his last success in Qatar;

* Jonathan Rea won his first Supersport race at Brno. At the age of 21 years, 5 months and 18 days he is the fifth youngest winner. At the top of the table is Yoann Tiberio who won at Monza, 2006, at the age of 19 years, 5 months and 21 days;

* Patrick Vostarek in Superstock 600 won his third straight race, equalling the all-time record sequence set in 2005 by Claudio Corti from Monza to Misano. It's the first-ever ‘Grand Slam' (win, fastest lap, leading every lap of the race from pole) for Vostarek. Patrick also equalled the record sequence of pole positions, since he has started every race from pole since the Nurburgring (3 races).
