Hi guys,
I wondered if any of you out there has run Bridgestone bt021's on the track?
These came with my bike when I bought it, they still have loads of tread left in them but I don't think they are the newest tires and didn't know If I should change them to take my tuono on the track or if they would hold up?
Any advise would be great,
Thanks

when my mate started doing regular trackdays he converted his CBR600 to track trim but left the 021's on untill they were trashed.

he went quicker around mallory on that than I did on my Tuono with rensports on :crazy

I only do a trackday once every blue moon and only then if it's showing signs of cheese ;)

021's are bloody good tyres & will be fine on track. Make sure you use the right tyre pressures for a track day & enjoy.

Thanks a lot for the advise guys, most appreciated.
After that I think I will leave them on then and save myself £250, I was so close to buying some today and very glad I didn't now.
Cheers.

I've just been round Cadwell on my Tuono with 021's on, they offer fantastic grip as you probably already know.

But the sides were proper chewed up, cause the amount of acceleration on the sides.

But after i did the trackday i did a 300 mile round trip ooop north to see the folks and came back and the tyres were absolutely fine. Got rid of most of the trackday bobbles on the edges.

thats a good question Jolly, hopefully one of these guys can help us out, i read 30/30 for most tyres on past forums?

On other bikes I have had I tended to use 32/35 but since the tyre pressure are odd as standard I wondered what everybody uses.

I use 30 / 30 in my BT-021's on the Tuono.

Run the same on the missus's 05 R6 when she's on track, she has BT-023's on.

We also have a CB500 track bike, and run 30 / 30 in that as well.

seems a bit low to me, unless your a track god you'll be running around on semi flats all day wondering why your steering feels heavy !!

from a buddah to a god is just a few psi away, oh yeah and ****** the size of Belgium lol...

I got Bt16's on the blade. O/E tyres fitted. Had to put a fresh one on the day before as I'd picked up a puncture somewhere down the line. Origional rear had done abouyt 1250miles and was almost shot, would have had to change after the track day I'd have thought. I had no issues with grip & they performed fine for me. Suppose I was probably running mid group in the novices.
showed ;lots of signs of bubbling on the sides. Apparently Pembrey has a really grippy surface and is quite harsh on tyres.

Nice one !! Your right about pembrey, loads of grip and in my opinion an excellent circuit, did it for the first time recently and cant wait to do it again soon. We should arrange a meet up/track day there for a few of the welsh / west country lads ?

Have bee trying to conjour some interest but with the September fud fest I think the lads are commited elsewhere. Theres a Phil Bevan Weekend 11th 12th Aygust I will try and make the Saturday if my forks and rear shock heve been rebuilt in time otherwise september dates are 11th/12th 22nd/23rd then last one of the season is 27th October. I'll try my best to get a day in over each meeting work & weather dependant.

Since my disasterous start to the year with the Feds I'm finding it the safest way to have fun without fear of drawing the notice of the police. I still havent had a summons through from the easter weekend affair & have speed awareness course this coming Monday. The traffic Police in Dyfed Powys are certainly a feisty bunch I was talking to a geezer in Llandovery on Sunday who said they were out in force between Merthyr, Brecon & Llandovery. However I never encountered any on the way home after seperating from stix. just one little local police van parked up in a lay by didn't look too concerned.

im getting married in september in scotland so am completely SKINT at the mo, might think about the October one though !!
