COUNTY DURHAM
took the son out for his first outing since passing his test yesterday on his R plate Thundercat even put a decent tool kit under his seat in case he broke down or things needed adjusting however I did not expect the T to be the one parked at the roadside :no
things were looking good and the cored satin black Aprilia Racing cans sounded awesome until we stopped and the T would not start again :bawling
the symptons seemed to all point to a knackered battery however after sitting at the roadside watching numerous bikers go by and chain smoking for half an hour she started again :banghead
after getting the T home i was informed that the problem may have been caused due to running the bike on map1 with cored cans causing the pistons to overheat and the engine to tighten up due to running too lean thus giving the battery a hard time trying to turn the bike over! took the cored cans off and refitted the stock cans and went back out with no problems. will get the mapping changed and try again next week (where is the best place in the North East for this?)
after all the commotion it still turned out to be an excellent days riding and look forward to many more like it (without the breakdown!)
