Anyone had bother wi this? My mate noticed it today an on closer inspection it's the front brake switch which doesny look like it can be unscrewed. Checked out the wirin an there's no even a spade connector that i can see- it looks like it goes straight intae the loom. On the plus side he said it looks like a Klingon bird o prey about tae hit warp drive.:drool

Afore we get on tae trilithium crystals an the like any ideas aboot the brake light switch bro?

Cheers Keith, I'm still on the journey o discovery with the bike an bein italian it's gonnae be arduous. Thanks for the heads up tho mate.

When you pull the brake lever the inside bit pushes a piston . There has to be a connection (terminals) http://uk.ebid.net/for-sale/aprilia-front-brake-light-switch-43888824.htm?from=googlebase

Check out ...part 20 , ensrure it is not broken and clean (I have not touched this part so is new...ish to me) I am used to the spade connections at the lever as on other bikes.

The piston is screwed in or out and is held in place by a tiny grub scew underneath .

I had this on my Tuoldo, a generous spray of WD40/ACF50 onto the microswitch gets it moving freely again

Aye ah tried some WD but tae nae effect. Ah'll replace it i think provided ah win the bit oan fleabay. Cheers muckers.

Replaced the switch on my tuoldo recently for MOT - didn't cost much from main dealer. Tried to free it up but it was nackered.

Thats cos your brake is constantly on though Stix ya slow coach ;)
There weren't owt wrong with the switch

Wouldn't know I'm always paving the way for you around all the good roads we have hoping against all hope I don't get lost and looking like I actually know where I'm going.

When we did our last run from Newtown back towards Craven Arms, Leomisnter just after that ***** in the Audi overtook us I nearly missed that T junction at the bottom of the hill which is awkward to see. Had to brake quite hard and just glad the front wheel didn't tuck under me cos its a bit gravelly near the white lines.

Nah he's ok :thumbup

I hardly use the front brake though. Warned Roly about it the first time we went for a ride, rolling off plenty most of the time. Know what you mean about grabbing the front brake though, had a moment in the works car park the other day. Somehow I didn't see a forklift coming my way, grabbed a handful front dived big time but I was probably only doing about 15-20mph so was ok.
