bloody mille..its a love hate thing.

I need help. My 2002 RSV has been mucking me around since I got it last July. I put an extra earth from battery to sub frame and started to do the brown connector mod but cut the wires before I marked them, doh. Now I'm stressed. Can anyone help.

the 3 yellow wires can join any of the other 3 yellow wires in any order as there all the same and go to the same thing

make sure there a good joint and well protected from the weather etc with shrink wrap sleeves etc

hth

PLEASE NOTE
I have done the earth lead mod, brown plug mod, uprated solenoid HOWEVER........ went to start mine yesterday after freezing temperatures the previous few days then warming up a bit............
I noticed lots of condensation on the tank below the line of the fuel.........went to start as normal .....never been a problem before and no go............now I know from reading a load of posts on this forum that anything other than optimum charge and ur lookin for trouble and as it was mine had been off the optimate for a for about 3 days so I shoulda known better...........and my battery is on its last legs :dowhat

However for those of you out there it really is no good trying to start it without either charging the batt to its full potential say 13v plus or jumping it off another 12v source for xtra oomph.............

What can say is even though I charged me batt and tried it again it didna wanna know as obvious the plugs were wet............

BUT I can say that the wide open throttle procedure does work shut off the fast idle, open the throttle wide open press the starter (do not crank for more than 2 or 3 seconds) wait till it starts to fire... if it does shut off immediately if it does not catch try again mine took 3 attempts............just thought this might help any1 out there as mine has been starting 1st time everytime until now........just a matter of time before some1 elses does the same trials & tribulations of owning a big vee spose:dunno

So you havent added the 4extra wires from the reg rec to the battery? (white block)
That is more important than all the others unless you actually have a faulty part.
All i have done is cut out the brown connector and done the wiring mod, and it now fires on the button eveytime regardless of temp. It used to be as you described. And thats standard solenoid and battery :thumbup

Hope so m8 my biggest worry at the mo is to go out for a quick spin and it will not start wherever I switch it off.............so am not gonna try till I get it fitted!!
Tried my local batt shop for 1 of these AGM Motobatts and he said (what is absorbent glass matt)!?!?!?! It did not inpspire much confidence!!!!..... after telling him the make and model he rang head office and said to get 1 in from america....it would cost about £110 you can imagine what my answer was LOL:nana

Ah yeah, it is definitely your batt or your stator I reckon. With the mod done, once you get the new batt I reckon you`l be sweet. It wouldnt be so bad if you could bump start these things!
