Hi Millekid,

I went to the NEC Bikeshow on Sunday and I must admit I do like the look of the Benellis (not sure if I should admit that on an Aprilia forum). Didn't get a chance to do the test ride out bit though so not sure about the handling.

Did you see the cafe racer test in PB about 2 months ago it got a bit of a slagging mainly 'cos it broke down and also 'cos it was supposed to be kicking out 130+bhp but they reckon it wasn't.

At £8699 you could pick up a brand spankers RSVR factory which you know is gonna handle just aswell if not better and have more go. The Benelli 1130 tre is £10k which again seems alot of money, at that price if I had the cash I would rather buy the KTM RC8.

Looked at the Buell 1125R thingy, that is horrible IMO, think I'll wait and see if Aprilia make an RSV1200R or look at the Aprilia V4.

Took a couple of pics of the cafe racer and the RC8.

We went to the show on sunday and MAN:eek: was it mobbed out, pushing and shoving about and not being able to take a good look at what we wanted to :mad1.It took 2 hrs to do get there and that was only a 40 mile trip in the car :jack.Traffic was a nightmare but having said that it was a bonus we did not have to pay for parking when we left, £8.00  is a rip off :argh. The show was set out better this year and needless to say ill be going mid week next year :yes

A few of us went on sunday got some nice free passes which makes it even better found the lay out a lot better than recent years yes it was busy but the good thing was the last minute reductions got myself a £300 helmet for £50 can't be happier so in all a pretty good day.

What a steal that was then :thumbup, my other half got a ducati :jack fleece for £15 and i got 4 t shirts for £10 . If the aprilia clothing was cheaper i would have got loads but i aint paying the prices they wanted :mad1, i thought these shows were supposed to give us a bit of a discount but it looks like some stalls were just not giving that discount :dunno.

Got digged in the ribbs for eyeballing a pair of legs in skin tight red hot pants :devious, god only knows what its like on press day :scared

Also got some other bits and pieces to service the bike saved £40 on brake pads among other things so pretty good.....

Must admit, that although I set off at 7:45am after hitting the sack at 2:30am ( did I actually get any sleep?!?) the day went by VERY quickly. But there were 7 of us in the party, so loads of laughs to be had. The stands were set out well and it felt bigger than previous years, probably due to the use of the halls. Would say that I thought the KTM RC8 appears to be a perfectly set-up bike with a very natural riding position...which is more than can be said of the Jap bikes....FireBlade needs a new tank...when tucked in the angular sides will catch your arms, the Ducati 1098 looks great but feels flimsy and obviously will cost a bomb to maintain. As for kit, a few of the lads got some real bargains regarding clothing/helmets ( damn my weird shaped head) and a lot of stalls were selling quality gear at good prices e.g. rearsets/crash bobbins. Yes it was busy at the 'flood-damage' stand but what can you expect when full race leathers are up for grabs at £75 a go?! I'm still not sure about the bored-looking lassies in lycra sitting on rotating bikes, but it takes all sorts.....I had a great day, but would have loved to have been able to visit an Aprilia stand other than a club stall selling mugs that looked like buckets for £3 a pop! Roll on next year.

I got my bucket FOC after drinking one cup from that you dont need another cup for a good few hours or I could take it down the pub to use as my regular pint mug..................
