That's interesting. What makes you think that it was built in the factory like that. Is there documentation?

Rob

made like that in the factory eh :dunno
Not liking that sorry, good luck with the sale though

Your FIRST post.

And you're trying to flog your bike?

SERIOUSLY???

Don't forget to close the door on yer way out.

PS...that's NOT an Ohlins shock, and they are NOT Oz wheels.

Hi
This one came from UK ,and sold from aprilla dealer in Dublin.
And was made specially for UK manager of UK aprilla factory ,this is what i belive,to be true.
I could be wrong, but I have a lot of people look at it and they all agree it would have been a one off.
They are oz wheels ohilins forks ,rear shock ,damper ,banana swinging arm also supposed to be rsv R mapping and electrics .
If any One knows more about my this bike let me know.

Where was the UK Aprilia factory? I thought they were all made in Italy.

Rob

We dont have enough pics to show hey arent forged?

Mine have the o.z imprinted same as yours but not round the rim and im sure mine are forged..

How can you tell the shocks not an ohlins also..

The Ohlins I had did not have the vertical cast marks on the top mount...but my Sachs did.

The spokes on Oz wheels have a more square/flat profile,(if that makes sense?) and do not have the ridge running down the centerline of the spokes between both sides.

Apologies.....just checked, got it the wrong way round...that DOES appear to be an Ohlins shock....my mistake.

Right let me get this straight, this has gone from "being made for a client" to being made "specially for UK manager of UK aprilla factory" very interested in where this aprilia uk factory is. then we wouldn't have to wait over a week to get parts from Italy. Funny looking OZ's them pal, mine are the same as Tifa's and nothing like them aprilia copies.

also it would help if your selling a bike to put up an asking price, mileage, service history etc.. you know all the usual stuff or can we get that from the UK factory?

Sorry to piss on your chips lads but they are infact proper Oz's. Dazzer, yours and Tifa's are off a Gen2 the ones in Bilbo's are the early Gen 1 Oz's which are a different pattern.

Cheers for the correction buddy, now kind sir can i have some directions to this UK aprilia factory or is that your garage where you kindly fettle my steed

Come on lads give the guy a break!

I wasn't aware there were any rules on here regarding how many posts you have to make before you can post in the for sale section. If there was you would be restricted from doing so.

Just because Bilbo isn't 100% accurate in his description of his bike is not a reason to have a go, and so far those that have have had a go have been wrong, just goes to show so called experts really don't have a clue sometimes.

Ok there is no Aprilia factory in the UK, maybe the guy meant dealership. Its possible this bike was built like this from a new Falco, it looks well done and has had a lot of money thrown at it and puts a lot of the bikes on here to shame condition wise.

I am not 100 % sure about the wheels been OZ, because if you zoom in on the cush drive it looks like its a one piece wheel and not a seperate item, but hey I don't claim to be an expert on Aprilia's I've only owned about a dozen or so in the last 14 years.

If Bilbo doesn't know anything about Aprilia or motorbikes in general other than what he has been told, then its not his fault he doesn't know his arse from his elbow when it comes to his Falco

Just the same it would be better to educate the seller rather than slag him and his bike off, If I was new to Aprilia's and came on here and saw this post I wouldn't have a very good first impression about this forum, its users or Aprilia riders in general.

Firstly I never claimed to be an expert i said mine were the same as Tifa's which turned out to be Gen2's. Me old pal
SPOOKY who does know his apes put me straight and said they are from a Gen1, so to clarify I said they were funny looking OZ's coz they aren't the same as ours I didn't say they were not OZ's did I.
When you know very little about bikes like me your suspicion is raised when a story changes, built for a client then for the UK manager of aprilia UK factory, Which we all know there isn't one. if you're going to advertise you need to clear and precise which this clearly isn't with a changing story. UK dealership is massively different to aprilia UK FACTORY would you agree nick.

lol.....I love this forum......

I wasn't aware there were any rules on here regarding how many posts you have to make before you can post in the for sale section.

Maybe there should be, to protect board members, and to avoid stuff like this?
To be fair Nick the ad DOES look a little suspicious....or is that just me? Dunno? Maybe it is?
Anyway, my suspicions are these: 1st post, lookes like spam, all the inaccurate factory stuff, no price....banana swinging (wtf) arms...break pads and the general feel of the ad. Does not look as though it's written by a biker.

Nick, I'll be the first to hold my hand up and admit to being an arse at times.....got no problem with that.....and if the ad is genuine, I'll be the first to offer Bilbo an apology.
But I'd sooner make an arse of myself now and again than see regular board users ripped off.

I don't know if the ad is genuine or not, I am not sure how anyone would get ripped off though as there has been no mention of transfering any money into a nigerian bank account or anything like that.
Perhaps there is so little information from the seller as that is all the info he has
As for bananna arm I think that term was first used on RGV Suzuki's and the Mille arm is very similar to those and had the Mille come out first it might have been referenced to that. And break pads or brake pads who gives a stuff? have you read some of the other posts on here? there is probably loads of spelling and grammar mistakes in my posts but I am not a spammer just someone who cant be arsed to proof read what they have just wrote
I actually quite like the bike. Not a big fan of Falcos although I do have one. If I was interested in buying it I wouldn't care who built it or where or why.
However if I had been the first to reply it might have been something like this

Nice bike, not sure the wheels are genuine OZ they look like later Aprilia copies do you have any close up pics of the wheels and rear shock

If I was the seller I would ask admin ( is there such a person on here) to delete the thread and come back and post again with more info
