:yes I had a nirvana moment last year - I was blasting down the A483 from newton to llandridod on a warm sunny Sunday afternoon - barely a car on the road - the tarmac was hot - my tyres were hot - I was cool (naturally - I was riding the T) - everything clicked & I was riding down the road laughing :lol in my helmet - I glanced down at the clocks, 100mph on the speedo big sweeping bend coming up - perfect line - knee down - fast exit :devil, I thought to myself that I had never felt this good on any jap multi ive owned - I did a Rossi & patted the the tank when I got to the Crossgates roundabout :thumbup & thought to myself this is by far the best bike I have ever had - I then set off down the Builth Wells vally rd to Talgarth, iam right in the zone for Talgarth & i get to the cafe at the bottom all to quickly :yes :devil - I round the day off with a coffee & sarnee then a blast down the Usk rd & home :crazy - moral of the story - the T rules and i have found biking nirvana.

what's your biking nirvana moment.

Touching the knee down for the first time in a tight right hander decreasing radius off ramp all by my lonesome on a warm sunny Sunday morning many moons ago... I still smile thinking of it. I'll have to think some more on others. One that comes to mind is a chill morn. Had ridden to Golden BC with a bunch of Harley mates in a thrashing downpour. Kit dried o'ernight and off by meself again to meet another mate on his R1. Cerulean blue sky, barely warm enough in the sunshine. Crystal clear mountain air that is razor sharp as I suck it into my lungs and my heart is umping at max efficiency. HUGE steep uphill left hander on the shadowy crisp lee side of a mountain and pulling hard, left knee puck starting to skip on the chill asphalt, a thousand feet down on my right side and coming into the sun and a straight away for 500m just as I was starting to worry about tucking the front... Hard intae fourth and nail it intae the straightaway....

nirvana moment? Every time ah throw ma leg ower an stab the starter! Been doin it for ower thirty years noo an the joyous sensation o speed, power, risk, freedom an o being jist a wee bitty different than the average joe has never waned!

Nicely put R. Almost the same fer me as when I feel that tank shaking next tae me ballsac. I get a dreamy expression everytime the fuel pump has finished cycling and I get tae push the starter. That being said, there are those special moments that squeeze the adrenals and make me smile in fond remembrance of a special *moment*.

I lime it after it's just rained during the night and you go out in the morning. Love the smell. Not got my knee down on the road. I'll catch u up on the rideout tuboy.

Don’t really know whit to say hear I’ve had a fair load of them. Many moons ago when the Maddot and I would be running aboot the urban roads we would ride abreast each other, not the safest but it felt good.
I always wanted to go to Cape Wrath so aboot 5-6 years ago I got masel an OS map of the joint.
Ffs the mod bomb the **** out of it. Anyhoo I kept a close eye on the weather and an opportunity came along, I made some lame excuse aboot going to Oban to look at some work fir CalMac.

The forecast fir the day wis clear and sunny fir the whole of the UK, so off I went at 5.30am.
It was misty and cold fir the first hours until I got to Loch Sheen when the mist lifted.
The scenery wis totally kool, the air wis as clear as a bell and the roads were deserted.

I got to Durness but the queue fir the boat wis to big so off I went along the top to Tongue then down to Altnaharra, Inverness and down the A9 to ma wee hoose.

It wasn’t a knee down day or mince the tyres day or a back end oot and spinning wae the front clawing the air.

It was jist one of those days when after 12hrs + I jist wanted to turn round and go back the other way.

Jist Heaven.

Good work H, keep it up.

Whit aboot yer JoG to Lands End.

Keep us informed, somethin to look forward to.:thumbup

great post Tuboy, for me i agree with all of the above. First time i stuck the st4 on its back wheel in first, changed up to second and rode it out to the limiter, wicked. Specially as bearing in mind im **** at wheelies. Windy, my good lady got me the ron haslam track day at donny too, fantastic. Did get a bollocking from the instructor though cos on the last lap of the last session i outbroke him into esses and fooked off for a bit ...
Aldo, your lucky to have them roads and that scenery on your doorstep, ******* love the highlands.

Well feel like a right newbie compared to you lot. Only passed DAS in 2002. Had a few bikes since never done a track day.

However to me it's an adventure every time I ride to work even. Let alone a ride for ridings sake.

Looking forward to spring :thumbup

Cheers bay - even tho I'm nearly 42 why do I feel like a complete noob?

Tell you what tho as I need a big op in the next couple of years I'm going to make the most of it in 2011. So pencil me in for all Welsh & S West rideouts starting now.

Oh and I have an 03 Non racing but it's a damn fine machine :thumbup

Can't remember date we said in march now. im off out this Sunday weather permitting. Hopefully gilo will make an effort, big guy windy and not asked tuboy yet but will pm him. Must get peoples text numbers
