Has anyone got any pictures of their bikes in the snow, or any interesting snow related biking stories??

OK I am sat at work board and its snowing again, I was just wondering if anyone has any pictures or stories about riding in the snow.

(I am sure I have sen a piccy of a mille on here outside a tent covered in snow).

It interests me because I have nowt but respect for those that have the bottle to do it!!!!

Obviously AusRSV (Aj) you can exclude yourself at this point!!!!

Many years ago I owned an RD350LC , It was autumn time and I was going to visit my mate about 200 miles away (well when your young time and distance means nothing), i left home in warm sunny weather but at about 3/4 distance it started snowing , and snowing and snowing, after a while the RD started to boil in direct contradiction to me as i was turning a very nice shade of blue !!. We I stopped to try and figure out why it had boiled , only to find the radiator completely blocked by snow, it had literally filled every open space on the front of the bike. In those days there were no mobile phones nor phone boxes so I resigned myself to the fact I was going to freeze to death, when my mate and his dad turned up...luck, timing call it what you will I was saved !!. Many medicinal brandy's later and I was thawing out nicely (although illegal to give alchohol to under 18's, I'm glad my mates dad chose not to follow the letter of the law)......never ever again ever :)

No phone boxes - When was this!!

Mmm, don't go out in the nasty weather if I can help it BUT, I did used to commute to work on my little RD250 all year round - 15 min journey. In the winter though all I can remember is the pure pain of my hands warming back up once I got to work & the extreme fun I had with 'wooden' brakes trying to stop in the snow if some prat pulled out. The other incident was a morning I woke up - no snow on the ground...thought 'great, lets get cracking' started her up on the drive pulled away in a haze of blue smoke & next thing I knew I was sliding along the road followed by the bike - BLACK ICE all over the road...but being the young ***** I just got up started the bike & carried on my way...boy was I in pain when I got to work! hey ho!

I have just noticed my missing post has reappeared so now I have 2 post asking the same thing.

eh?

I roadtested a B-King in April for a day and it was bloody snowing hard and slushy - in Hampshire! Not once was I tempted to touch the '***** button' to switch it to 'wimp mapping' though:pirate
Truth was, I didn't need to as the thing's a big teddy bear if you don't rev it too hard.
<p> I had any number of snow-related escapades from when I was couriering - that was before mobile phones as well Scott!
