Can anyone help me! I have just fitted a USB charger and wiring for a heated jacket. The battery after a period of non use for ten days went flat discovered when I tried to start it to meet friends for a trip. In haste I used a battery jump start pack but now the starter motor runs and turns the bike over even without the ignition on. I have had to disconnect the battery and have removed all new wiring.
Sounds like faulty wiring has flattened the battery. You have probably destroyed the ECU. CAN bus is very sensitive to over voltage. Did the bike start and run after using the booster?
Hi EtvTim, Are you talking Caponord 1200 or ETV1000 ? If it's Capo 1200 then I think your wiring mod has cost you a packet.....the 1200 is a technological nightmare for DIY owners and you must research how anyone else has done what you are planning to do before messing with that electrickery........and the suspension is controlled by the bikes brain too so be very careful under the seat and don't ever disconnect anything under the dash! (that's Can-Bus territory up that end!).
Hope you haven't done too much damage and can get back on the road quickly.
Ps - just remembered, on the 14-16 forum someone had a problem with the starter motor relay but his Capo burnt the starter motor out........yours might have the same problem but just hasn't got to the point of frying the starter motor yet......
