Well I just picked up my bike yesterday from AMR in Leyburn after leaving it there for the week for a major service + new chain and 44t sprocket fitting and he also set-up my suspension.

The ride home was fookin awesome :dougi was Yeehaaawing every bend it was like a different bike and was rock solid cornering giving me loads of renewed confidence after my off earlier in the year. The 16/44 gearing is just :dougwish i'd done it before... much quicker pick-up  took a couple of minutes to get adjusted to it, but then i was off :biggrin

Worth every penny and the guys there were great explaining what they did and why etc. Valve clearances were spot on, so credit to the previous owner for keeping up on the bikes maintenance as Simon (AMR owner) commented on the bikes mechanical condition :thumbupHe did a Dyno test but I'm not sure what all that stuff means (printout below), all i know is the bike is just fantastic now. I thought it was good before, but blimey it's just amazing now :inlove

Click on the AMR link on my first post wilky and you'll find the address on their website :thumbup

Cost... I had a new chain and 44t rear sprocket fitted at the same time £130.

Service cost was £340 ish, but that included them drilling out a sheared rear bobbin that snapped when i came off the bike in the new year, fitting an insert and two new bobbins. That was for a major service where they do everything...valve clearance checks... linkages checked and re-greased... new oil/air filters, oil, spark plugs, fork oils, dyno run, etc etc etc.
Suspension set-up and rear wheel balanced as it was out by a mile

They had the bike for a week and I got to say it was worth every penny of the £468

Sounds like a nice work over sprocker...to have the suspension sorted as well with the new fork oil & rear links checked has to be nice peace of mind and a well handling bike. Good onya for going the goods matey..i think you did well at that price. Ya must be well pleased. :thumbup

Which ones are the ones who can't shag birds :dunno :biggrin

As it happens, one of my uncles works for the Catholic Church hunting out these pervy priests :dowhat He used to be one of Irelands top social service bods before he got the job of catching kiddie fiddlers :eatcorn

Sounds like they did a great job..Mine cost £350 at Jordans but they've not greased the linkages that I can see, but have just taken bike back as it's now very harsh feeling..Vibrates even when cruising. It was fine when I took it in..They didn't make a fuss and have taken it straight back in so hopefully will sort out what they've done.

Mate, you have just put me off Jordans.

I am taking my bike off the raod for winter in 2 weeks. When I put it back on in March, she is going to AMR for the full works.

Didn't they tell you what they did Mark :dunno I think I'd want to know if I was spending that sort of money. Sounds like something loose somewhere :dunno

When they serviced it last year, they gave me an itemised list and the valve tolerances..This time I got just a bill..
To be fair, they didn't argue when I went back, and its still in there now, so will give them the benefit of the doubt, and see what its like when I pick it up.

Well..Took bike into Jordans mon morning, they kept it 2 days and rechecked all they'd done plus rechanged the oil as their's was last lot from a barrel, they've refilled it with new batch.

Back to how it was now, lovely creamy power, just had a fast blast down the M1 to Sheffield and bike felt great..

Surely it must have been more than "Last lot of oil from the barrel " :confused thats sounds like ******** to me Mark :dowhat did they say they found anything else wrong :dunno

Well, all they told me was they'd changed the oil again, had both wheels off to check the balance, made sure the calipers weren't dragging..

They've not checked the valve clearances as they reckon they're not due..Though looking in the service book it says every 12k miles or 2 years..So I'd have thought they should have been checked..£350 a lot of money for basically a fluid change..

End of the day, the bikes running fine now, but next time will look elsewhere for a service.
