I have a 2009 RSV1000R and it only has about 180 miles on it. It is starting to die every time I pull in the clutch at about 10 to 15mph. :mad1 Sometimes at a standstill??? The dealer has idea. Next week I am putting pipes, sprocket and remap. They seam to think that will fix it…. To sure I like to hear that. Any help here? Thanks

It could be a fault but your dealer isn't giving you a bum steer.
The oem setup runs the bike very very lean and lean often equals stall.

Ask for a Throttle body setup after the remap. They should anyway but ask in case.

I had a cutting out problem when i bought my factory in 04. Not every junction but sometime when pulling in the clutch it would cut out:dunno

Once i tried to bump start it by dumpig the lever after it stalled. I was doing about 10mph and it just locked the rear, very nearly dropped it.:rant

Learnt to just hit the starter button after that. Anyhow I put a full acra system on it and the dealer set it up, no problems from then on with stalling etc.:doug

Anyhow welcome to the zone, awesome steed you have there. The colours have defo got better over the years. Shame they never did a yellow one in the new shape as i reckon that would look awesome:yumyum

I have recently purchased my 54 plate RSVR and had the same problem, occasionally when i pulled the clutch the bike stalled, including on the slip road of the M6 on the way home from the dealer on the 1st day, spooked me a bit.. Anyway sent back in and they remapped to suit the RSVR Racing cans that were on it and the bike was perfect. Limited experience but seems to be the same problem that just needs the dealer to give a bit of tlc..

WOW!!! The dealer has had it for a week and they still cant fix it!! They put on pipes and remap and that fixed the miss fire but, it still just dies????? They have had it for a week and I am hoping that they will have it fixed by tomorrow.....

Make sure the bike is on MAP2 and they have correctly set up the throttle bodies, i.e the CO2 level accordingly. There is a specific procedure on the Aprilia Axone diagnostics. Incorrect throttle body adjustment is normally what's causing the stalling

Without stating the obvious here chaps but doesnt the bike stall if you pull the clutch in with it in gear but with the side stand down ??? possibly a faulty side stand switch that may need a look at ?

ask them what they are setting the tb's too Co wise.

What they should do is ground both bypass screws on the throttle bodies and measure the Co for each cylinder. whichever cylinder is highest should be lowered by opening the bypass screw until both cylinders match. The target Co setting should be about 4% but anything near is good.

You would be amazed how many dealers do it wrong beleiving they have to actually set a fixed Co value. You can't. The ecu sets the value the delaer just has to balance each cylinder to read the same.
Even 1/4 incorrect turn on a bypass screw is enough to make it stall.

if that don't fix it ask them to run a Throttle stepper motor initialisation on the axone and check the vac hoses from the map sensor to the tb's

Great news! They fixed it. It hasnt died yet.... Seams to be running better also. There is a ride this weekend just in time. Have to go out and show the japs how its done. Thanks for all your imput. Have learned that I am not going to take it back there again. I will drive as far as I have to so I can have a real Aprilia dealer work on it. Talk to you soon.
