Bike Build...

we should have a little bit on the forum for non-aprilia things...other interests ,projects etc

got a little yam 250 i bought for £50 stood for 10 years got it running just! ...fancy a little flat-tracker for local/short runs..but have already found a 400 engine for it.and some rs125 usd forks with a mille disc with the xs cast wheel bolts straight up..oh no! a cheap runabout has turned into a bit of a project...no real pics as its just a pile of parts waiting to be bolted together ..and left ratty looking..but will update when i get a chance

thnik thats a good idea...id love to get into building some mad bike but i havent alot of mechanical experiance, tho like i said i do have the ways and means around me, but a section in the forum would be class for me to read and pick up tips,

if your going to make a 'bitza' bike (bits of this and bits of that) how do you know what fits with what? or just go along with the same manufacture and years? or a case of measuring diameters etc?

You can make almost anything fit from any manufacturer as long as the part is up to the job like my blue bike in the picture has a Honda single sided arm & wheel fitted into a Yamaha frame with a different Honda shock & Suzuki forks with a Honda wheel fitted to a Yamaha frame :biggrin

the things im worried about are the breaks, and the forks fitting the yokes etc (among other things lol) but assuming the choice of forks and swinging arm depends on the break set up you want? got to be easier than getting calipers to fit that shouldnt? (but are they all that different?...i dunno :p) or buying a frame with the headstock and yokes to make it easier to get different manufactures forks to fit? god this is gunna be a steep learning curve...

might buy a salvage bike and have a play with old sport bike bits...see what happens ><
