At Noale their lips are sealed and Max Biaggi is missing in action as news from the halls of Piaggio trickles out that Max Biaggi is moving to Aprilia. This is in addition to team changes with Hayden and Ducati.

Biaggi and Aprilia find themselves together again, with a two year contract for 2009 and 2010 SBK. This is big news for both the company and the rider, but also for SBK and the motorcycling world as two legends are set to perform again.

Biaggi will start from where he left off as an “official driver”, showing that his career is far from over and that he is a complex rider, with mercurial character. Biaggi has shown, when it was needed, that he is competitive, prepared to fight for the podium and a title.

Despite Max revealing a possible preference for Suzuki, Aprilia had him at the top of the list for their favourites. Biaggi has since made his choice, one not easy to make but that was required of him.

The new “Biaggi-Aprilia” team in all-Italian colours, should spark the imagination of many fans, though it won’t be enough to gain results. Underestimating the power of a set of Italian fans following both rider and bike, would be foolish, and this team has an added value that’s difficult to determine.

The RSV4 1000 is already running well but more will be required of it - at Aprilia, however, they know how to make racing bikes (their exit from SBK in 2001 was due to financial problems, not technical aspects). Piaggio is the first big European motorcycling group, and its history will be guiding its knowledge of image and commercial strategy.

SBK is really getting exciting - on the track we see the colossals of Ducati, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki and now also BMW in the mix. Nothing is missing for an exciting era, and Biaggi and Aprilia are now in the thick of it. We wait for the official news while touching wood.

Oh sh*t, Now how do I support my fav. Bike manufacturer with my least fav. rider on board? I Don't like Biaggi at all!!!!!!:dunno:confused:dunno

I sort of grew up with Max winning on Aprilia in 250 GP's before he moved up to the 500's. Without a doubt he comes across as a **** as a person, but he is a great rider and seriously still has a point to prove. He still believes he is the very best, and yes that makes him arrogant, but it also means he still wants to show everyone else that they are wrong, which is at least in part half of the battle.

WSB I think has been a bit of an eye opener and leveller for him, and I can see the Aprilia suiting his style of riding and a very precise Max of old returning to the tracks......

Max, you are a **** sir, but go get them :D

If he has his head and ego sorted then sweet, coz lets face it he can ride....BUT...has he the want still to give it heart..or is he in it for the bucks & ponce??

Aprilia will no doubt have a hard time with young Maxxie, when every poor result is blamed upon the bike, factory, staff, spectators, angle of the sun, colour of grass etc.... BUT you never know he may well come up with the goods if he can keep his ego inside his helmet!

well at least he's a capable rider - so if the bike is good then he should be able to show it

by no means a HAGA or CORSIAR cos they ride around problems - but if the bike arrives pretty well sorted then watch him - he'll be flying

I only checked this thread as Agreat1 was last to post... I was expecting it to finish with...

'piece of italian ****':coocoo

Yo great one...

Why dont you borrow my old piece of **** that starts every time, I can use yours for a few weeks and sort it out...:devious

Max maybe our man.

I think Aprilia have a point to prove coming back to SBK.
Max has proved himself over the years and if the new V4 is as good as we all hope it is then maybe he is the man to put Aprilia on top, as Valentino did for Yamaha in the first season.
I am prepaired to give max a chance,(to support Aprilia) but I am a Big Valentino fan obviously.:hail:hail:hail

I dont care much for Biaggi, but you cant take his ability away and he can ride, so maybe just maybe he will be the right man for the 1st season.

Will be interesting to see how this goes but it has the potential to be quite competitive. Big word there is potential of course :dowhat

The V4 so far seems to be going well, if Biaggi can get his act together and get consistent then it should be good.

Bottom line is it's good to see Aprilia back in WSB whoever's riding for them:thumbup

i think biaggi is a stuck up little ****....met and spoke to him in italy in his unknown 125 days and he was just as bad then........
