Sadly the lass who wrote the thread is no longer with us, she was killed in a bike accident this year. RIP.
Some great pics on that thread Weeksy. Always good to put a face to a name.
It never ceases to make my stomach lurch when I see a "rider down" post. Sorry to hear about your friend mate. I always think "but for the grace of The Big Fella" etc.....
This was from last summer. A four day trip with a mate that was on an FZ6. Killer weather and a great travel partner makes for a memorable trip. Waiting for the ferry here to cross the lake.
Remind me NOT to bunk with chunkster when I come over for a ride. Or at least remind me to take my helmet off in bed so that I don't wake up to find someone spooning me...
One of my favourite rides is going up to the Tanhill Inn via Arkengarthdale and back via Buttertubs and the Ribblehead viaduct. Its got a bit of everything. Mad single tracks that are mega bumpy, fast A roads and some of the best scenery in the UK...and all of it mega twisty.
Here's the route from Harrogate to Ripley (its the run I do for Harrogate IAM)
Distance: 143 Miles
Route Map: http://tinyurl.com/po87t3
And a few pics from the last time we did it back in May.
Thanks stony... now I have a big boner and I have to go to bed. The wife will think it's for her...
Those roads look incredible! If I took pictures of the roads out here on the Prairies you gents would laff. You can watch your dog run away for two days and there are roads that run with straight as an arrow direction for DAYS!!
Here's another cracking route to Helmsley from Hawes. 77 miles of twisty fun. Takes about 90 minutes and includes some of the best stretches of biking roads in the UK. Every road is fantastic, apart from about 2 minutes on the A19. You'll get some major air on the bumps just outside Hawes and again around Bilsdale and Chopgate.
