hi all..
after my troubles with my rear sprocket studs, i have now got more issues..
fixed my rear studs saturday, left it overnight , wake sunday for a early spin and some nice person has knocked my bike over.. bent right hand bar, and stuck throttle.. so i now have more issue to sort out.. looks like 90 quid for a new one and postage.. can these simply be bent back or do you deffo need new??
im now looking for a garage.. as this is the 5th time in as many months its been damaged..

the bloody council insist i park in a bike bay (just passed a new law) but provide no security or protection, i would rather choose where i park , then at least i can accept the damages as my own fault.. i plan to petition the council as this is a joke now..

They can be bent back... Use a looong steel hose and start slowly bending it back. When its straight, lube it and you will have a better throttle than before :)

hi, thanks... the ebay one was for ohlins forks only, sadly im just a mille.. im guessing ill just go 'brand new'.. tho its a big old cost..

cheers nick

My bike also fell of the sidestand last year, got the right handlebar bent, stuck throtle.

With a pipe a straighten it, now its the same as before :), so go for it, you have nothing to loose, if it doesnt work out, you can still buy a new one.

ok, with the handle bar still on the bike??
or remove then straighten??

may give this a go tonight.. if it saves me 90 quids ill be happy.. thanks

On the bike... you will just have to strip it, throttle, switches and so on, so you are only left with the bar.

hi all ..
well i replaced my bent bar with a new one for the costly sum of 100 pounds.. but to my dismay i still have a slight offset, if i was to set my yoke straight as i sit on my bike, the front wheel is a few mill of to the right.. basically if i drive along i can be going straight but my yoke is slightly turnt to the left.. what could be my cause of this?
could this damage be caused from a simple knocked over bike whilst parked up??
i read my haynes and it says steering pulling of in one direction could be a bent stem??
im guessing thats even more expensive??

many thanks nick

It could be that the forks have twisted in their yolks(clamps). Try loosening the axle pinch bolts. Bounce the forks a few times and then nip them up again.

Dont bend it back, Aluminium doesnt like being bent twice, it gets all brittle.

I bought a bike where the bar had been straightened, as I was pushing the bike up onto a trailer, it snapped.

not a good thing to happpen when standing on the brakes into a 90Deg bend !!

plenty cheap on fleaBay
