I'm still looking for an RSV but due to being stuck in the middle of nowhere for work I have not done much except online, I have a test ride booked for friday but, the one thing that I find with the reviews onlin is some issues with shorter people have with the RSV. Would like to here from other shortys opinions, did you mod the bike ect. Just got used to it, or it was never an issue. I compared it to an 1198, which I have never heard much bad said about the ergos and there is bugger all difference between the RSV and the 1198.
And I'm 177cm.
Thanks

i have a 2000 mille r and have ridden a 2005 rsvr. I am a monstrous 5ft 8 :biggrin and fit both models just fine.

I'm a strapping 5'8" and don't really have too many probs, but have owed a lot of moto crossers in my youth. If it was an inch lower it would be great but you just adapt to its height. Just be careful turning on gravel carparks etc and you'll be ok.:thumbup

Hi bud, I,m a strapping 5'10" with long legs and find it a bit tall, have to careful around garage forecourts(diesel spills!)

I have an 08 rsv and the missus rides it, she's only 5 feet five/ 167cm

She has a 08 Tuono and has no problems with that

Its all about confidence

As is the riding position, full on, so lack some confidence and she will bite

I'm a dirt biker as well, so the seat height doesn't concern me, it is more about the claimed long reach to the bars.

Good point wobble, never thought of that... maybe I'm a bit of a gibbon in the arm department then..... *Checks mirror* Good Lord yes, they're down to me bloody knees!:confused

My wife found my old 07 gsxr750 more of a reach to the bars than the rsv

HAHA. There is a guy at work with arms like that, looks like an orangatang (spelling?)

Thanks for the replys
Well there is not much there that warrents the negativity about the ergos that I hear.. It will not be an everyday bike anyway just a bike for the twistys and the odd overnight trip, going to keep the kwaka for the longer trips.
So I guess I will just have to wait until my test ride and see, God I hope I like this bike, I will be gutted if I dont.

Sounds like your the same size as me bud and I have no probs with the reach to the bars. It is a bit of a head down, arse in the air position. You'll get used to it! I can only comment on the 99-03 bikes. I think the later ones are smaller?:thumbup

I've ridden an MV Augusta F4 1000, a Ducati 848, 1098, 1198, 1198s, streetfighter, hypertard, an 09 Yamaha R1, a benelli Tnt 09 and i currently ride a 2000 RSV-R. I'm 5'8 and none of those bikes had any modifications to them, and I don't struggle at all. tt

5'8 and no probs....granted feet not flat on floor but never a problem...never noticed it any worse than the CBR600 I had before.
