Co. Durham - England
On sunday mornin, I went to an annual local event called the Beamish Trophy Trial.
Some of the following text may not be that accurate, but correct me if anything needes to be changed.
It starts from the Board Inn - a couple of mile west of Durham city.
Its an all day event for classic trials bikes - up to the early 80`s ish I think.
Mostly old british syuff with daylight MOT`s.

Approx 100 bikes / sidecars there, some really nice, some really scruffy - all had loads of character.
The course is about 100 miles long, takes all day & is a mix of on / off road sections.
It gets over subscribed with people attending from all over the UK
Its a fun day, people are really chatty & they meet up at various places during the day for dinner etc.

I know some of you lot are getting on a bit & will recognise some of the bikes.

OT, it looks like a cracking day oot mucker.:thumbup

nice pics OT and out of all the 2 i raely like are tha BSA and the Tiger, they bring back memories of blasting around Horden pit up and along the beach :thumbup
by the way the guy with the beard and white helmet on the Triumph is the one i was talking to at the ice cream stop on our last Yorkshire blast, he can usualy be seen on his old BMW around those parts.

Sorry Olaf, dont recognise any of the bikes.:laugh
Wasn't Panther one of the lady Galdiators a few yrs ago, dark hair & a fit body?:devious

GF, if there was a bike with a big wheel at the front & a small one at the back, I bet you would recognise it:lol

Can you remember when they used to walk in front waving a red flag so that other riders (on horseback) were not frightened by these noisey things.:yes

those comments are not very PC mate but funny all the same :laugh
when you said that some of the bikes there were a bit tatty you must have only posted piccies of the good ones apart from that blue and white one in the last picture :lol

I'm going to get it in the neck when I say this..but....................I think the MIJ bikes look better then the old British bikes........sorry!

Slomo,
its not about getting there first, its about getting there in style.

Some of this modern stuff has no soul - I think we all agree the Tuono is an exception.

Like Brooksy, as a kid, I was brought up on old british stuff, flying around the fields & heaps.

It was a challenge to keep them going, especially on no money.

Saying that, I have just purchased this, to re-live my youth with Brooksy, if he gets his short arm into his deep pocket.

It looks like another trip to the Manx next year -

Excellent ..... nice bike Olaf !

Now find some local trails and put a ride out together :)

Will do Felix.

I am sure Aldo & your good self would show the beginners a few green lane tricks of the trade.

It looks like a T-Zone - "off-road section" is starting to come together.:thumbup

Next year I will post details for this event nice & early, if nothing else, we can meet up on the T`s as there seems to be a bit of interest from the local members.

I like to get for the start, its good to see them coaxing the old bikes into life on a cold morning.

Much better than seeing them at some show.

Brooksy, I hope all your PPE does not have DCC, or NCB written all over it, like some tight wads on here.

Pit wellies may be OK for walking the dog, but the paparatzy will get you.:lol:lol
