Battery Advice needed - 12 or 14??

Hi,
I need to get a new battery as i've killed the GTX12-BS I put in 2 years ago (been sitting in the garage untouched since January as i've had 2 operations and couldn't even be arsed to go and see the poor old mille in the garage..)

I noticed today that the battery I replaced 2 years ago was a YTX14-BS...............so does this mean that the previous owner had done the uprated solenoid jobbie??

Should I get another YTX14 rather than a 12?

Mine is a 14 and fits without any probs. Go for a 14. Just because someone has put in an uprated battery is no guarantee that the solenoid is uprated too.

YTX14 gives more CCA (cold cranking amps). Its better than the 12 hands down, but would work better with the uprated solenoid.

Even with an uprated battery and solenoid the standard cables will struggle to deliver the extra amps to the starter motor. Speak to Wes (Killaprilla) on here for uprated cables.
