Basic maintenance - dont get complacent.

I normally keep on top of the basic maintenance tasks.

This morning, because I had a few minutes spare before going out, I did a bit more, oiled the chain & checked the tyre pressures.

Instead of the tyre pressures being within a psi of norm, I was a bit surprised to see that the rear was at 22 psi & the front at 29.

I like to think I keep on top of basics, so I was quite surprised to find this. I will check more often.

So, dont get complacent, its a bit boring & can be a bit grubby, but I am pleased I checked.

If you don't ride it every day and only on weekends then it's good practice to always check it before you head off. If you use it every day then you should still check it at least once a weeks to be sure.

Well said Olaf, I make a point of cleaning and lubing my chain after about 6-700 miles. The tyres are checked with my size 9's every other ride out.
Oil checked at the end of a ride when the bike is still running.

Having seen T sulking and unridden for 3 weeks I set out for a hoon on Saturday and after 30 miles noticed the clutch ressy was empty!

Pit stop at Halfuds

No idea what happened to the fluid ... its not on the garage floor!

Strange things happen to T's for no reason mate. My T lost its clutch pressure 1 night, no idea how or why. Took a bleeding age to get all the air out, but has been fine since.
