Bad Service

I debated this for a while and came to the conclusion that people need to know who not to use because of bad service!! Maybe we need a sticky somewhere that people can reference about good or bad service from companies, individuals and the like.

I was recommended by a friend who races a guy who calls himself KS Performance (apparently he does suspension for some BSB teams - his name is Kevin Spur), anyways I sent him my forks as the one fork knuckle had the dreaded crack through it so I had one as a replacement and needed it changing.

I sent the guy the forks back at the beginning of July and he said I won't get to them for about 2 weeks as he was busy getting stuff out for the BSB teams which was no problem and agreed to wait. Anyways I left it a bit longer and called him beginning of august and he said that he had to get one of the stanchions straightened (funny mine were never in an accident???) apparently a few thou out so I gave him the benefit of the doubt and went with it!

He goes on to say that the TiN coating was starting wear a bit thin - NOW I know this ********!!! mine weren't wearing and showed no signs of it so disputed and he backed down.

Anyways he reckons he's finished and will be sending them (this was a month and a half ago). His excuses ranged from ahhh mate sorry I never managed to get to the Postoffice to I’m off to the Manx GP and your forks are in the post (nope they weren’t!!!) to oh mate my missus has sent them but she now on holiday and I can’t get hold of here!! (you guessed it ………….. they weren’t in the post and hadn’t been sent!!) to yesterday’s story of I’ve posted them for “by 9 o’clock delivery ………. Go on take a guess if that was true :roll

So anyways wey hey postie pitches up with a package at 11am – I asked him if it was sent next day by 9 ……………….. yep you got it!!!
I open the package to find a set of radial ohlins that look like they’ve come off a 100,000 mile bike with worn TiN coating and cracked fork foot on the leg that was good!!!!!!

THIS BLOKE CAN’T BE TRUSTED AND WILL NOT GIVE YOU A GOOD SERVICE (MAYBE IF YOU’RE A BSB TEAM YOU’RE TREATED DIFFERENTLY????) NEVER AGAIN WILL THE F*&^%KER GET BUSINESS OUT OF ME!!

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED :rant

Sorry to read that tale bud.

Can't understand people who operate like this, You done the right thing letting people know :thumbup . If the guy couldn't get the job done why take it on ? Bang out of order. Hope you get them sorted for real soon.

cheers matey, yeah I'm going to have to get another new fork foot. Think I'll see if I can buy the neccessary tools and do it myself

I take it this is not kais performance near manchester? dont want the wrong boys getting a bad name? my story tookmy fjr1300 to a mech i have known for over 30 years! for shim check and new spark plugs , long story short dont believe cam cover has been off, picked bike up with electric screen not working and a sticking throttle 145 bhp in the wet ! not nice also the fairing was cracked badly [ said not there fault as it was like that ] my arse, just picked it up again cos they have repaired it and it looks fine, told the chap i was really dissapointed in him and didnt know he had let his monkey loose on it. makes me piss the way some people dont give a *****. it takes years to get a good name and not long to lose it, not naming and shaming cos word is out already about my bike and people love bad news.good luck with your forkin friend.

company names in the blurb BJ ;) yeah it does seem the service we get these days is appauling

Deacs,

i am just in Bedfordshire and need to get both fork bottoms changed on my radial ohlins. I was considering using FTR suspension in Bury St Edmonds but the price was a bit steep. If you find a decent place to get them replaced can you let me know and if you do decide to buy the tools then I would be happy to assist in the costs if I could get utilise the tools to change my bottoms, with some expert help hopefully?
