Had my worst biking day ever !!!

On my way home from work last thursday whilst overtaking a car on a country road to get out of the spray my rear broke loose to the left and i ended up flying over the handle bars, after some distance i came to a stop, all my gear is ruined but saved me with no injury but sore wrists. But the bike looks awful the front has gone and the left side took the brunt. not sure what to do now as only 3pft!!! . Rebuild or brake??? aprilia parts as i have found are not cheap and even the carbon bit above the dash is £300. If i can i'll post a pick to see what you all think i should do with her i'd love to rebuild but i'm not on superstar money.
I'm as low as i have ever felt, there must be a light at the end of this tunnel but i can't see it yet!!!

What a bummer  I think e-bay might be your answer, timemachinebikes is a seller on there and has loads of parts, might be worth emailing him a list of what you need and see waht he can do for you :eatcorn

Welcome to the zone btw :thumbup

Paul, sorry to here this, i feel for you fella but at the end of the day the most important thing is that you are ok. Parts can be replaced. Post some piccies up when you can. Agree with Sprocker, Ebay may become your best friend

Paul.

Is it just lights & fairing? If so you can run it as a naked until some panels come your way.

As you may of read Im in the same situation. But I do have protected fully comp insurance. The fault wasnt mine & the other guy totally admitted it.

Good luck.

Welcome mate, sorry to hear about this. Glad you're OK.
The break/repair descision really comes down to whether it's just bodywork damage. As the lads say, there are lots of panels available on ebay for reasonable money - the main thing is to make sure your forks, frame and swingarm are OK first. A bit of rash on the frame or swingarm is not necessaily a problem - costmetic damage you can hide with carbon covers - as long as they're not bent or seriously dented.
Do a thorough assessment of the damage first and then decide what to do.
You can always advertise for bits in the 'wanted' section on here.
Oh, and cheer up!
