I have been told by the people repairing the bike that the earliest date they will get my bike back is the 27th. I was warned before about the trouble I would encounter with parts but this is rediculous. I absolutely love the bike but it is no good to me if it doesn't run.

lol....a few years back I ran over a cycle rack with 2 or 3 bikes on it that had fallen off the back of a car on the M25....I was in the outside lane, driving a Landrover Defender and was going about 80mph (flat out) when I hit it....the traffic was so heavy and fast moving, I couldn't stop.....neither did the 50 trucks and cars behind me....
No sign of the car that lost the rack either.....mind you, I doubt they'd have wanted it back after the bashing it took....
Is this going through an aprilia dealer ? If so they probably source parts through aprilia so it may pay to search yourself via an independent supplier.
This is going independent from Aprilia dealer as they wanted way too much to fix it and couldn't get it booked in to their workshop for an age. To be honest I didn't get a good vibe from them at all so I decided to take it to people I have used before and trust. I am playing the waiting game at the moment as nothing can be done until parts get here from Italy.(nowhere to be found in this country).Worse things happen at sea I suppose but it's a bit frustrating as the weather has been so good lately.
Sorry to hear what happened Ferg, like others have said at least you & ur boy are ok so f*ck the bike it can be fixed. Tossers with unsecure loads are a menace. Make sure you give that back tyre a good clean up when you are back up n running. Rob
I have got my baby back at long last . I am a happy bunny with a big smile that even the crappy weather can't wipe off. It has taken a long time but I was reminded today why I chose it in the first place. Happy again, that is all, Goodnight.
